Parkdale Community Food Bank

I was a passenger in a vehicle, stopped in traffic due to construction I witnessed a family of 4 each with baskets leave the food bank. The car they loaded up the goods and left in was a new Mercedes. Unfortunately I will not be donating this year.

Loved the experience we had at the food bank! Great team and community building with some of the kind souls that are here day in and day out.

Hello, I just moved to Toronto 3 weeks ago and I would love to sign up for volunteering. I was told by phone to send an email but I'm unsure if I got the correct email address. Please advise.

I have been going to this Food Bank for a couple of months now and the volunteers there are awesome. That one star goes to the one who ''runs the place'.I went today to take a box for me and pick up a box for a relative as usual. I talked to HER. She brought me only one box so I gently reminded her that there is another box. She answered rudely that she has 'two hands'. I felt bad. When she came back the next time I told her I was just reminding you that there is another box because sometimes guys here forget it (which may happen to any one and not a big deal). Her second rude answer was ' you do not need to remind me, I run the place, they are volunteers'. I call that unprofessional, you are getting paid for what you do, so you are not doing anyone any favor and you are supposed to show more commitment. Again, that was rude and unprofessional.Keep it up volunteers, YOU are running that place.

Honestly you get nothing pasta pasta pasta, no sauce maybe some yogurt and a few items of produce that are all shoved in one little bag together and it's not even close to fresh no bread oh 3 eggs in like ceran wrap so u know there gonna break but the odd ppl seems they play favorites, this girl that was just in front of me got frozen pizzas bricks of cheese all kinds of stuff getting food for two and all I got I noted above its not even worth the walk over I don't bother anymore

I heard that they were moving. Where and when would be greatly appreciated. Excellent volunteers.

Smooth flow, I made an appointment prior to going and this was so helpful as it prevented me from joining the long line. Got really nice and fresh items. You can always take what you want n return what you don’t want from your package.

The service and client care exceeded my expectations. And one's dignity is protected likewise.

This food bank needs helpThey also need foodSometimes they are distributing multiple cans of unhealtby creamed soup to elderly because they have no other food. They do not always have any form of meat or dairy. They can be heavy on sweets and treats and low on anything nutritious.If you can donate please do.They also need volunteers because social distancing is still needed. And they have many people rushing the door and hoarding leftovers so a few get everything, and the many in line get few.

I happened to go by on my daily walk and there were at least a dozen people inside and a line around the corner with no distancing. It's Parkdale! We're down to earth, community focused and follow rules during a pandemic to care for and respect our neighbours.
