Christmas In Chemainus

I stopped by yesterday to pick up an annual ornament for my 93 year old grandmother. I inquired if there was any ornaments from Finland as we are Finnish and that is where Santa’s Village is. Her answer was “no- I only buy what I like”. When my children (10/8) arrived she quickly told them they couldn’t be in the store. I stepped in and reassured her they were with me. My son picked up a Christmas ball from a basket to show me. She went on to scold my son for touching a ornament which cost under $10. Had her reaction not been so over the top I would have purchased it for him. At this point my husband and son left. I was still determined to find a gift. She repeatedly made comments on how we weren’t welcome. Asking “do you have an appointment?”. It was laughable. There was nothing actually special about this store. Small town massive ego. Most of the ornaments are made in China. With the last comment we left and went to the adorable boutique (Bound to be Different) across the courtyard. We bought locally made ornaments from an incredible sales person.There was definitely no holiday spirit at this Christmas store.I will never return.

The store is lovely,but the frigid reception by phone that told me they only made appointments and that we couldn't come. I said then we wouldn't but we were from the mainland. Interesting how then they could accommodate us. The other stores in town must be pleased that she puts people off coming into town. WOW

Ahhhhhhh!!! I love love love love this store! Do you want something for Christmas - like you have no idea what you want that is christmas-y... but you want something? Well... they have that! They have whatever you could possibly imagine you want and everything you never knew you wanted to decorate for Christmas!!! UNBELIEVABLE!

Best Christmas store youll ever go to. Also be sure to check out the Hansel and Gretel Candy/Halloween store across the street

Very cool store! Owners were very friendly and helpful without being pushy.

A beautiful store with unique decor, but I did not feel welcomed by the salesperson. She made me feel like I was a nuisance and I felt very uncomfortable so I left without making a purchase.

This has been a GO TO store for me! I'm shocked by the reviews of buyers during COVID, whining about 'needing' an appointment!! Be HAPPY the store was even OPEN!!!The owners ALSO underwent the stresses of COVID, just like the rest of us!NO, I do NOT know them on a personal level... I know them on a BUSINESS level...Have you heard of COVID?? Are you AWARE of policies the GOVERNMENT invoked???These reviews sicken me!... This Family run business is the HEART of Chemainus...Didn't find what you were looking for??? Or the SERVICE you demand... walk away... GOD do NOT shop @ my store!!

Es es leider nicht erlaubt Fotos zu machen aber es lohnt ein Besuch in diesem Laden!Es gibt so viele schöne Dinge die man für ein anstehendes Weihnachtsfest kaufen kann.Es war cool, danke!
