Military Field, Current River Park
Military Field got a new civic monument this summer (2019) with concrete plaza, park benches, poppy garden, flagpoles and a memorial to Northwestern Ontario's volunteers for the 52nd (New Ontario) Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary force of the First World War.

Very nice area great place to relax bring a book lawn chair, enjoy a book under a treeOr sit on benches at the WW1 memorial. Lots of trails to enjoy that connect with BLVD lake, lake is empty right now due to restoration of the Dam. Never the less birds such as Pelican, blue Heron, bald eagles and many other fascinating bird species. Deer and bears have been spotted recently as this post date shows when

It's just a big field with some parking lots on one side. There are various events held here. Otherwise, just an empty field.

Awesome Pow Wow here this wknd! Chi Miigwetch to the organizers for putting this on. Much appreciated. Very accessible. Nice to see friendly faces & meet new people. Its been too long. I wasn't planning on returning Sunday. Might have to now. Not knowing when/where next in town Pow Wow will be. Chi Miigwetch. Lots of vendors selling their crafts! Need more shuniah. #KeepItLocal

It's a fantastic park. I just wish there was a place for the parents to sit during games or practice a bench would be a nice addition . It's beautiful however and the kids love it.

A lot of parking available, which is great! Spacious soccer field with goal posts and a swing set area for younger kids.
