Concordia Lutheran Seminary

It is with deep sadness that I must write a one-star review. While I have no desire to speak ill of my neighbour in violation of the 8th commandment, the Lord admonishes us in His Word to warn and rebuke when needed. So, let me just say that I did not have a positive experience at this school. I did not find it to be faithful to what we believe, teach, and confess. Any excitement or drive I had to serve in the pastoral ministry was killed by the amount of political baggage I experienced. I later found out that my situation was by no means unique, and in 2023, even the most faithful professor I knew at this school (and the reason I applied in the first place) was driven out and took a call back down in the LCMS because of the issues. It breaks my heart, and I have tried to give feedback about this, but it is not easy as I've struggled mentally ever since my time here. I remain a Lutheran only because I cannot deny the Book of Concord, and I've also been blessed with faithful pastors and a wonderful congregation.I really hope and pray that with the interim president, they are able to transition things in a positive direction. Please, for those reading this on the Board of regents or with any say or power - your actions have far reaching consequences, and some of the things going on are not okay.I was very blessed, however, to take two classes by distance at our sister Seminary in St. Catherines, and I had a polar opposite experience there. Prospective students, please consider your seminary education over at Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary in Ontario. You can read my glowing review of them for comparison.
