Canex

Canex is meant to service military service people and their families. Does not seem to be the main focus of this Canex. They open at 12 today, Victoria Day. They are the only gas station and coffee service area for Miles and they are closed. That is not service. Some serviceman are working today and cannot even get a cup of coffee until 12. Also, there is the odd uhall that's stops for gas, but soon realizes they are closed.

I think the fact that it's the only store for miles to serve multiple communities and rural area, as well as the base, it's hours of operation are utterly ridiculous!! To close every day by 5pm or earlier is nonsense. Especially cuz it also houses the post office and mail boxes. What about those who commute for work but live here? By the time they've worked their shift and driven home, it's too late to even check the mail. Nevermind the possibility of needing something in the early evening or even for supper! Too bad I guess, or drive 20-25 min back to town to get it then home again. Let's hope you didn't forget to fuel when you could also. I like the variety available most times I just wish I could access it more often. I like the quieter life out here and don't really wanna move back to town just to have access to necessary amenities more. Sigh...

For a community and a representation of our government maybe look into the management and HR nightmare at this location.Disappointed and upset to see such a great organization run this way.Our Military and their families deserve better than what this location offers.

Like a mini Walmart in a good way though. They carry a lot of British products for the troops posted here as well as a liquor store.

For being the one store within normal proximity of the base (in the middle of no where), and being here to service members and their families (PMQ living right there) and being the closest gas station as well, I dont understand the point of being closed more then open... the staff was snooty the 2 times I have went in.Makes me miss my Petawawa Canex staff whom are ACTUALLY kind... and well open...

I had stopped here to grab some lunch and use the washroom on my way through, unaware that masks were still mandatory here. When I stated that I did not have a mask, the older lady was offering me a disposable mask, at which time the younger (blonde, heavier set) cashier decided to tell me that washrooms were for customers only, ( I was not aware that I needed to tell a cashier I was buying lunch before I could use the facilities)At which point I turned and left. Some of their cashiers need to learn some customer service skills.Thsnk goodness I didn't have the kids with me yet!!

Friendly staff. You can find almost anything you would need in this store, my first time seeing so much variety in a gas station.

The personels are really nice with their clients. But I think some stuff are expensive. But without that I have nothing bad to say.

Service is excellent for their products. I hope anyone who goes through here stops to take a look around :D
