Coast Bastion Hotel
Really nice room with a fabulous view of the harbor. Ordered food from the restaurant to bring up to the room. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. The check in experience was great - explained parking and all hotel features very well. The hotel is very reasonably priced and it’s worth paying a bit extra for a room with a view. Will come back again and stay longer.

Coast Bastion Hotel
Well has all the features you would want in a nice clean hotel. Staff and managers were great, rooms above standard so when was told there was going to be renovations I'm like my room did not need it. So just tells me they care about the hotel and it shows in how happy the staff and managers were to the excellent service of all the staff. The restaurant and waiter were absolutely great and upscale with live music and food. Steaks and food were great and enough that had to take some back to our room. Thank you for the upgrade as well. Will be coming back no question.

Coast Bastion Hotel
There is no better place to stay in Nanaimo. It is always spotlessly clean and the staff are always most pleasant. I've stayed at this hotel for the past 27 years and have never had cause to complain about anything. Great place and superb people.

Coast Bastion Hotel
We spent 6 nights at this hotel while attending National Stick Curling Championship. The staff were friendly, accommodating. The room was comfortable with great views. We definitely would stay here again as it is in a great location. Thanks for making us feel at home! Great job!

Coast Bastion Hotel
We had a hard time finding a hotel in Nanaimo that would accommodate large coolers of fish we were bringing back from a fishing trip on our way home to Edmonton. The Coast Bastion had no problem accommodating us and they were so helpful, starting with the text about our arrival. Ron and Merlin (maintenance staff). went above and beyond helping to ensure all the fish was well taken care of and we were on the road with frozen/iced fish that made it home with us.The room was super clean and very comfortable. We will stay here again.

Coast Bastion Hotel
Missed our ferry & booked a very last minute room. Staff at Coast Bastion were kind and charming. The room had a lovely view of the harbour and both west and eastern exposure for sunrise and sunset. The bed was comfortable with many extra pillows and room was bright and clean.The server was bubbly and had infectious positive energy. Thanks so much for making our short stay a joy!

Stayed in the king suite with ocean view and it was fantastic. Clean room with amazing view of the bay. Super friendly front desk staff and an easy and convenient check-in/check-out process.

Had great stay. Every employee had been very was helpful, friendly, and showed genuine care and concern for the guest experience. I've been in hospitality industry for several years and definitely felt genuine care and welcoming by the staffs. Food was great at the restaurant. Enjoyed my walk by the water. Definitely coming back.

Coast Bastion Hotel
I stayed in the top floor Jacuzzi tub suite. The view was absolutely stunning. That was the only crowing feature about the experience. The hotel looks old and tired. I prefer to stay in updated places with modern aesthetic. That’s the only reason why I might not return. However the service from the staff was amazing. If you are staying a night in Nanaimo then this is probably the best place and I’d recommend getting their Jacuzzi tub suite .
