Nicola has been cutting my hair for a few years now and she always gets it right and is the only person I trust to cut my hair. She is extremely professional and ensures that I am well taken care of and get the hairstyle I am looking for. Nicola is also very patient and willing to go out of her way to accommodate me. I've always had a great experience and only have good things to say about Nicola and Salon Freed. I highly recommend booking your next haircut with her as I gaurantee you wont be looking for any other Salon after you visit Nicola at Salon freed.

Nicola helped me fall in love with my hair again! She listened to what I wanted and made me feel beautiful again! She helped my hair go from dry, dead, strangely to beautiful silky smooth AND kept the length! I felt so comfortable she did an absolutely amazing job I’m so impressed! I would recommend trying her out to anyone. She was so attentive and my hair turned out perfect. Everything I wanted and more. It was such a joy to sit in her chair. I stopped going to salons years ago because I had many bad experiences of stylists not listening and chopping all my hair off, leaving in tears. Nicola completely changed my view on salons and stylists! I will continue to see her as long as I live! 10/10 would recommend!Thank you again for restoring my confidence and making me feel beautiful again!!!

Cute little place that is chill and neatly appointed. Although I have usually booked with Alice. I recently had my hair done by Makaila. She was contentious, focused on her work, and pleasant. I am very happy with my colour and cut and would book with her again.

I’ve been going to Vivian for a little over a year and each time I’m always so pleased with her work!! She’s very attentive, has a wonderful energy and gives great tips for keeping my hair healthy. She’s done colour and cut for me in the past and each time the results were amazing! I strongly recommend Vivian’s services!!The salon itself is also great. There’s free parking at the back of the salon accessible through the alleyway, and great tunes that play throughout your appointment. Last but certainly not least, there are cute dogs to keep you company at the salon!

Alice has been styling and colouring my hair for the past few years since I met her! Love her and her work!Edit: I wrote the above review over a year ago, and I still go to Salon Freed to see Alice! I love her work (and her as a person because she is so sweet!) so much!!! I have been trying different hair colours, balayage and hair extensions with her and every style is on point. I always get compliments on my hair. I never had a home Salon until I came to Alice <3 Adding more recent photos of my hair because I am loving the blonde hair Alice helped me achieve! I naturally have black hair and she is a hair master that has helped me reach my hair goals!

Vivian did a beautiful job coloring, cutting and styling my hair. The salon is really clean and decorated nicely. Vivian went above and beyond letting me know about the products to keep my hair healthy.

I'm disappointed with this salons customer service. I do think this salon has good stylists, they are highly praised by long time customers in other reviews. If you are new to this salon and don't have a relationship with a stylist yet, it would be best to book the day of or next day appointments only as it's very difficult to get into contact with someone at the salon.Had my first visit 6 months ago and it was wonderful. The stylist was talented and did a good job. I loved how cute and cozy the salon felt.I had just booked my second visit with the same stylist and the morning of I tested positive for covid. I called the salon as soon as they opened, there was no answer so I left a message and asked them to call me back and confirm the appointment had been cancelled. After a few hours I still hadn't heard anything so I searched, found, and messaged the stylist on Instagram as I didn't want them to think I was a no show. It was still a few hours before my appointment.They responded on Instagram at the time of my appointment, told me what the policy is, and how this really effects them because they are commissioned based and won't have time to fill the spot. I was aware of the policy at the time of booking and cancelled regardless.As much as it sucked to be charged, I am more frustrated that it took 7 hours for someone to respond back to me. They were open for 10 hours that day. The stylist let me know they did receive my first message earlier in the day, they just never called me back.The salon has a few policies around cancellations, rescheduling, no show, and tardiness. I would expect that they would also govern with similar values when it comes to their customers.I tried my best to get in contact with them and try to lessen the impact of the situation and was met with less than the bare minimum and a charge, that's pretty frustrating.

I am obsessed with my hair! I’ve never gotten my hair lightened before and Amanda was so very informative and helpful before, during, and after getting my hair done. I can’t say anything but good things about my experience. The salon is so very cute and clean too! I highly recommend!!

My new favourite stylist – Nicola aka Nikki!I was visiting from Toronto and needed a stylist in Calgary for my engagement shoot ASAP.So happy and grateful I found Salon Freed and met Nikki. I had a colour correction, highlights, balayage and a haircut. She was able to fix my roots while blending it into my old balayage. I am absolutely in awe how she was able to transform my hair from long, brassy, damaged hair to beautiful, blended, healthy hair. Also, she is very accommodating. Always checking up on me and making sure I was okay. She is a talent not to be missed!This salon exceeded my expectations. The stylists here are not only talented but friendly, kind and incredibly hospitable. They made sure I was fed, comfortable, and they even offered to buy me a bubble tea! LolThank you, Nikki and Salon Freed for the Calgary hospitality. I will be back xo
