Mayfair Diagnostics Market Mall

My above review is about the information on the website. According to the website, the Market Mall location is open on Sunday 8-4, and during the week until 8pm. When I phoned to make an appointment, I was told that no location in Calgary is open on the weekends and that the latest we could get an appointment is 3pm. To top everything off, today is March 29, the soonest I could get an appointment (at a location about a 30 minute drive away) was May 3. What about people that work during the day, are they not allowed to make appointments and not have to take time off work? I am going to try calling back tomorrow to see if I get a different result. I am not happy.

X-rays are supposed to be “walk-in”….be prepared to wait over an hour or more. Not efficient at all! Wish they’d take appointments. I don’t know HOW they operate. Do they just have one tech or one room??

I had a spinal epidural yesterday. I was taken in a little ahead of my scheduled appointment time, everything was thoroughly explained to me, all my questions answered, staff were very friendly, helpful and constantly checking that I understood and that I was doing okay. Would highly recommend this facility.

Mayfair is very efficient yet personal. The people are well trained and the doctors and technicians highly skilled. The injection was fast with negligible pain and has been highly effective. I wish all other areas of the healthcare system were this good.

3 months ago, I went to this office to have my blood drawn, and although the people at the front desks were kind and not in any way hostile, the woman who drew my blood was super annoyed with me, and had an attitude all the way through the procedure. I have a serious fear of having my blood drawn and I had told the lady that I was uncomfortable and I was visibly upset and scared, but she just dismissed me and said that it would be easy. I asked her to stop multiple times to get ready and prepare myself which was met by sighs and eye rolls. When she was finished taking my blood, we did another test and then she left so that I could get dressed. While my mother and I were talking in the room, we both spotted many different unused items on the ground that were used for taking blood shoved under the bed, and in many spots around the room. There were bandaids, 2 needle tips (I remember because my mom took them up and disposed of them) gloves, and many other misc items. I hate to write negative reviews, but at 16, I think that I should be able to stand up for myself, even when It's out of my character.

The radiologist was kind, thoughtful, considerate and put me at complete ease by explaining the procedures calmly and with a superb “bedside manner.” I went in nervous and came out feeling happy and confident. Thank you for also accommodating the time change and delay with such generosity.

If I could give 0 I would, I came in 2 days ago while the reception was friendly the ultrasound was not. First I could not get an xray done due to machine being down, when my ultrasound tech came and got me I asked her what was it like working in ultrasound since I expressed intrest for school. I was told to wait till we got to the room which seemed fair. We got to the room I was hoping she tell me but snapped at me to put on my shorts. Finally when we started the exam she explained it in a stern way like she just wanted to be done for the day. I understand you are tired but attitude is not needed when someone has career intrest. Not sure if I will be back and if I am I don't want her.

My Technician was fantastic. My only complaint is how many people were in the waiting room with NO MASK! I get not wearing one to the grocery store but people have to realize this is a medical facility that WILL have cancer patients and other immune compromised people there. I also think the facility should take more action and ENFORCE the use of masks.

Unbelievable fast for my mom’s X-ray, Sheryl helped us a lot for all the details, we were so appreciated for this experience! Highly recommended!
