Pat's Audio Art

My experience with Pat and his staff has been excellent. With many audio shops you walk in and feel judged in short order as to how much you’ll spend, etc. At Pat’s they approach you with a curiousity for how they can help you better enjoy music, regardless of your price point, or just chat about music or equipment and enjoy a coffee (which they make at the store).I’ve learned over time that Pat loves music and it shows in how he and his staff interact and help customers.I strongly recommend Pat’s Audio Art.

Pat's Audio Art is well named. The store appears more like an art gallery than an old school stereo shop. Each piece of equipment on display appears to be among the very finest available at an individual price point - from the relatively inexpensive to the price no object state of the art. And although the equipment really is audio art, the atmosphere in the store is totally laid back. The staff, Pat, Arthur and Frank always appear unhurried and under no pressure to make a sale. They always impart that relaxed attitude regardless of the size of a transaction, big or small, and take the time to thoroughly explain the qualities of whatever equipment is under discussion. It is always a pleasure to visit their shop and I encourage anyone with an interest in the accurate reproduction of recorded music to avail themselves of the pleasure.

One of the best places in Vancouver for high-end audio. I went in explaining I just wanted to look because I was out of the store's price range, but Pat was still excited to show me what they had and even offered a friend and I the opportunity to bring over a thumb drive of music or vinyl record just to hear the high-end equipment. It's obvious he's interested in not only selling great equipment, but cultivating an interest and appreciation for audio. I'm far from being able to afford anything this place sells, but if I ever do, I'll be looking here first.

Had great visit at Pats. Arthur was very helpful, took the time to answer our questions and worked with our budget. Look forward to visiting again for new speakers down the road.

Over the last couple of years I have been saving up for a new system. Every time I went in, Pat took the time to answer my question and educate me on so many aspects of HIFI. I always enjoyed talking with him and came away knowing much more than when I went in. Between visits I would occasionally email questions to him and he always took the time to provide detailed replies. The one time I had an issue with an item, which was a manufacturers mistake not his, he went out of his way to correct the issue quickly even though it was quite inconvenience to him. Of the several audio shops I have visited in the Vancouver area, this is by far the best, highly recommended.

Absolutely disgusting business practices. I called their shop a couple of weeks ago to buy a Concept Turntable cartridge. I was quoted $190 and that was the price on their website as well. The person recommended I come in the week of May 11th as they would be busy with the Vancouver Audio Show the week prior.So I had a chance today to go in, checked the price online and still $190. But when I get there, the owner Pat Tang tells me that prices have just increased and that it would be now $300. I advised him of my conversation a couple of weeks prior and the price on the site. He offered no apology or price matching or reduction for that matter.He has now removed the page from his site with Clearaudio products completely.Beware of this company and their shady price switching!

One of the very few surviving strict audiophile stores in town. Very knowledgeable sales staff serving the selected audiophile clients, choice of displayed equipment is not extensive but many can be custom ordered. If you are into audiophiles this is one of the places you want to frequent. Sit back and listen to the ultimate sonic enjoyment while the salesman explaining the process and comparing is fun. This is not your big box store with giant TV and booming speakers blasting surround sound but a place with specialty audio gears pursing sonic excellency from cable to streaming gear to speakers. Worth a visit if you want to give yourself an enjoyable sonic experience.

I took my turntable in because the tone arm needed calibrating. Arthur was nice enough to have a look at it at no charge. When they couldn't fix it, they suggested to go see someone else. While I was waiting, the other employee was nice enough to make me a cappuccino and clean a record for me.

Worked with Arthur who was incredibly knowledgable. Tremendous knowledge base and access to top of the line product lines. Met Pat too...great guy!

Bought a Goldenear Supersub X remotely from them, shipped to California. Excellent service. Great price, quick phone/email responses and on time delivery with tracking number. I would buy from them again in a heartbeat. Fantastic vendor.
