Victoria Bridge

My GPS guided me to this old bridge. There was a little confusion when approaching from the north as the traffic light intersection before the bridge was strewn with cones and looked unwelcoming. Once I figured out that it was okay to continue, I found this to be a bridge that was constructed well enough to allow me to pass to the other side. No fuss. Its lanes are wide enough for most cars and light trucks. If you're freaked out from the feeling of being close to an edge, it may not be your thing. But, it was a fine and historic bridge that got me where I was going.

The bridge itself is the best bridge in Montreal bar none. Steel imported from England and has lasted and will outlast the Jacques Cartier and the Champlain.Giving it a one on five however because the way it's managed is awful- always being shut down -mostly to stop heavy traffic from flowing through snooty St Lambert - not surprising since the CN president lives there. Another great Quebec landmark that is now totally mismanaged. They used to paint it but no longer do and boy you gotta wonder why they were using small brushes and paint it by hand.

It's a fantastic experience driving on such a long bridge.

Literally hate this bridge so much such an inconvenience when it closes and I cant get back to montreal in a timely manner.

Coming back from Longueuil to Wellington you will enjoy a great view of the city. Driving over a steel grill it causes that car moves a little to sideways.When was made 1860 was the world longest longest bridge.

I haven’t been on this one yet, but some snowflakes referred to it as “terrifying,” so it’s probably pretty rad. #jaquescartier4life

Drove over this bridge for the first time and I highly recommend for anyone who loves the thrill of not knowing when the horror will end. Then Waze took me back over it three days later.It’s like a maze trying to find your way onto the bridge heading toward Montreal, and on the way out you can see a “hill” on the bridge…”what’s on the other side?” you think, as you get closer and closer, hoping it doesn’t just drop you into the St Lawrence. Spoiler alert- it doesn’t. But isn’t this bridge so much more exciting that those bridges where you feel safe and secure?!?Couldn’t add photo as the terror I felt was all consuming and I used every ounce of energy to keep my car driving straight on those metal grates.

You can enjoy a scenic view of the Montreal skyline from this classic bridge. The surface of the bridge is metallic and it adds to the antique-like sensation when you are circulating over it. Wonderful landscapes!
