Dara Farm Sanctuary

Dara has taken in two of my in laws pigs when their lives changed and they needed somewhere to live out their golden years. The folks that run this sanctuary didn’t even take time to blink when we reached out to them, and immediately opened their hearts to these two babies.They have grown quite a bit over the last 2 years, and continue to do so. Saving more and more animals and providing the love for them they wouldn’t have anywhere else.It is a beautiful place to be, and the whole environment to visit that radiates love and light. Being around all of the happiness lifts your spirits and reminds you of all the good remaining in the world.Thank you, Matt & Marco.

I first heard about Dara a couple years ago, when I desparately needed to find a safe loving place for my 8 year old pot bellied pig Walter. I was heart broken and heart sick knowing that due to a change in family circumstances was needing to find Walter a new home. Waiting to find the perfect home for him was key. I needed to do what was in Walters best interest and what would make him live a healthy and happy life. I met Matt and Marco over the phone. They were going to open up their home and hearts to my sweet boy and I just knew Dara was the right place for Walter. Both Matt and Marco came to my home, and we took our time getting Walter into a crate, with his blankie and loaded into the back of their SUV. Immediately Walter seemed to settle down, and know that his 2 new dads were kind caring souls that would make sure he was welcome and safe. My son, daughter in law and myself loaded into my vehicle and off we went to meet Walter at his new home and know I was not giving him away, but doing what was best for him. It is hard not being selfish and doing the best we can for the ones we love. Well Walter settled right in, he has many friends and an awesome roomie Chloe. He smiles all the time, and he is still the kind soul he has always been. Matt, Marco, their family and volunteers do amazing work at Dara. The crew are healthy clean, fed, watered, oh and yes, there are plenty of belly rubs to go around. Walter did not lose his first family, he gained some pretty amazing folks. We are all extended family and as soon as covid is in the rear view mirror I'll be paying my boy and his awesome new family a visit. Thank you Matt, Marco and everyone that helps to Make Dara what it is, a place to lay down, roll in some mud and get some belly rubs.

Two of the greatest people (and the best dog of course) overlooking so many amazing individuals. Their love for the animals shines through anything they do. Visiting here is my favourite thing to do!

An incredible and amazing place! So cool to see all the animals here. I've never seen the kind of dedication and care to helping animals(...or anything for that matter) that Marco and Matt put into this sanctuary. Always impressed. Lots of different animals to see, and stories to hear. A great place to visit or become involved with!!!!

Love Love Love Dara Farm Sanctuary!! Run by two of the kindest people; these animals at Dara are loved and cherished as family. Every unique soul that finds themselves in this forever home is seen and treated as the individuals they are. Can't say enough good things about Dara... lovely, warm, touching, community.
