We found Fern & Cedar as a place that offers good beer flights. This turns out to be a great modern looking, tastefully decorated brewpub that serves delicious dishes. We enjoyed their clam chowder with bannock, their lamb shoulder with truffle fries, and their roasted broccolini. The broccolini was a very unique dish that is a must try. They also have a great selection of in house brews, local brews, and local wines.

I really like the staff, and the food. I don't mind the look. It's a little overdone in the industry, but it's tidy. Fair amount of seating. Plenty of parking.Decent portion. The salmon was pretty darn good, and the beers were pretty good too.I'll be back for sure.

What a fantastic addition to the community! Not only is the brewery a beautiful place to sit, but the beers are excellent and the food is phenomenal. The clam chowder is some of the best I've had! Only being a month old, I can't wait to see what they continue to grow into.

Stunning interior! Classy atmosphere. The beers that we tried were delicious and the flavours were well balanced. I particularly enjoyed the Moonlit Dark Ale. The sweet spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich was finger lickin’ good!The staff were so friendly and accommodating. With a packed dining space, I never felt that the servers were swamped or overwhelmed. They were true pros!Looking forward to the next time I’m in Parksville because I’ll definitely be stopping here.

We LOVED our experience!!! This meal was a main highlight of our whole trip to Vancouver Island. We ordered the fish n chips, which was cooked to perfection. The fryer oil was fresh. We also ordered the avocado bowl with cedar plank salmon. Amazing flavors, super fresh ingredients. We brought our baby, who worked out well in their high chair. He also had lots of options for what he could eat.The ambiance is lovely, service was great. The beer, outstanding. The kind of place we’re telling all our friends about! Thank you!!

This brewery was one of the nicer ones we've been to all around. The beer was divine. We had three seasonals including a salted melon pilsner, a raspberry Hefeweizen, and a wit. The core NEIPA was also juicy, refreshing and delicious. The beer was a solid 5/5. The decor is gorgeous. True to their name with a wall of cedar wood, gorgeous teal paint, and live ferns everywhere. Ambience is 5/5. Food was delicious as well. The bannock and preserves were tasty and the chowder had good flavor. However, the chowder was runny and thin which made for a less satisfying consistency. The seafood in the chowder was delicious but maybe the consistency was due to the batch that day. In any case, because of this, the food is only 4/5 which is why the overall rating is 4/5. But we'd highly recommend this brewery and will happily visit again each time we return to the area.

Stopped here for some lunch. The chowder was amazing! I would have that again! Fish and chips were good too. I shred the two pieces with my hubby. Kids had the chicken strips and they were not fans, mainly because they didn't have all the seasonings like other places they're used to. Not a bad think just an FYI. Fries were delicious. I wasn't a fan of the prices but I know that's kinda how it is these days. But over $4 for an ice tea and $2 for a very small kids drink with no refills not great for people who are not drinking or kids. I'm sure I'll be back though for another bowl of chowder!!

Great brewery just off the Island Hwy with a variety of beers and a tasty menu. I tried all 4 F&C beers and loved 2 of the four. I’m not a fan of sour or lager beer. Great space inside but we chose the outdoor patio. It was a beautiful day with patio heaters if you get chilly. Aidan was a very friendly and attentive waiter.

This is a nice little addition to Qualicum.Overall our experience was good. I took my family out for dinner and we got beers and food. We got a salad, seafood chowder, lobster/shrimp wraps, truffle fries and a lava cake for dessert.The lager I had was your standard lager, perfect for a hot day. My grandmother liked her shrimp wraps and my mom and I were happy with the chowder and salad we got. I think we could have done without the $12 fries, the value just wasn't there for us. I will say the menu does seem a little pricey but the portions are large, I would consider splitting a meal in the future. Make sure to check their fresh sheet as we totally missed this when we were ordering.Will be back to sample other beers in the future.

Really nice brewery - a bit more upscale than a lot of the crafties I've been to, but that works for me. They have a great menu of West coast fare to pair with a selection of really great beers.Our party sampled all of the beers on tap (minus the sour and the oat IPA), and all flavors were solidly in the good-to-very-good range; no stinkers to be had.We just had wings for food, but saw some really tasty looking plates walking by. The hot wings were good (standard Frank's Red Hot), but the miso maple wings were a miss...not sweet and salty, as expected, but rather a bit tangy and sour. They weren't bad, but I wouldn't recommend them, to be honest.That said, I'll definitely be going back! :)
