This is a review of Peggy's Cove itself, not the gift shop. It's a beautiful, picturesque place. It's a must see if you're visiting the Halifax area.

Peggy's Cove Gift Shop
This is a cute gift shop when visiting Peggy’s cove. I’ve gotten a few items and the cost was pretty reasonable, because I wouldn’t know where else to find similar ones. They have keychains, magnets, mugs, lighthouse decorations, shirts, etc.. a variety of things! Definitely check it out if you are in the area!

Beautiful area and lighthouse. Worth the trip to see. Then go walking around the rocks and stop in the little shops. A definate must see.

Drove down from Halifax to Peggy's Cove. Enjoyed climbing the rocks and taking lots of pictures -- so beautiful and picturesque. So famous that we expected a mob scene, but wasn't really that crowded - lots of space to spread out.

Visited the Cove again in Sept. 2021 and found that the village had been gentrified over the past years.Wooden boardwalks were added, and a viewing platform was under construction near the restaurant. It no longer felt like a fishing village; more like a Disney version of one.Still, it is well worth visiting but expect a tourist attraction, not really a fishing village.

This is more a review of the overall tourist attraction that is Peggy's Cove as opposed to the gift shop (although we did purchase quite a bit while there). In a word... amazing. We happen to visit on a misty morning which only added to the incredible experience and then when you started to hear the sounds of a solitary bagpiper playing through the mist from out on the point, it was nothing short of spectacular.

Peggy's Cove offers breathtaking views and picturesque villas -- this is the epitome of a seaside town. An early morning sojourn is recommended as it can get busy and free parking is limited. Quaint gift shops and restaurants pepper the roads leading to the lighthouse. Comfortable shoes recommended as the terrain is uneven and rough, especially by the lighthouse. The town has a very communal vibe.

The restaurant is a complete tourist trap. The food is not good and the service was just ok. They get a lot of customers because literal busloads of tourists get dropped off here, but the food here is not worth it. The lobster soup, which is supposed to be one of their best dishes, was mediocre and served lukewarm. The amount you get is very small (it looks like a normal portion in the picture because the bowl is wide but very flat), and it was overpriced.I regret going here instead of to one of the other restaurants that were just a little further away from the Peggy's Cove lighthouse.
