I knew someone who was a client with Aspen Care for a couple of months, and he always had marvelous things to say about how he was being cared for. I met a couple of the nurses and they are kind and caring! I would 100% recommend for in-home care.

We are so grateful to have had the support of Shelley and her team over the last year. My mother had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of Parkinson's. At the time she was living independently, experiencing frequent falls and was not willing to accept any in-home support. Shelley quickly became a trusted advisor and friend to mom. She and her team members provided care directly, helped us navigate the process of accessing home care and ultimately assessing alternative housing and supporting my mom's transition to her new home. We couldn't have done it without Shelley's support and expertise.

Shelley is a true love of people, her caring and compassionate way helps the clients and family feel at ease while walking through challenging times. Shelley and her team organize and guide client's and family through end of life care. One client whom passed away, Shelley gently bathed and wrapped to prepare the client's family to view them. While I was an employee for Aspen Care I was shown and experienced giving a level of care that is compassionate, thoughtful and genuine. Watching our clients age and being apart of what would help them and their families adjust to their needs was a rewarding experience. I produced my first professional short film earlier this year, and Covid searched Google for who in Alberta we could book to do on-set testing for the 2-day shoot. Aspen immediately came up. At the time I first emailed them, we didn't have funding in place yet, but they answered all my questions immediately and provided me with a quote for our budget. When the funding came through, they quickly answered my bazillion emails, and on both days, arrived at 5 AM to test our whole cast and crew. Just absolute pros. I'm working on my second film now and, covid still being a thing, will definitely use them again.

The caring, compassionate and professional care provided by Aspen Care nurses brought my husband and I through a medical crisis. My husband was discharged from hospital into the AHS palliative home care program which allows him to remain at home. While the support for daytime care is excellent, it does not allow for overnight care. His condition prevented him from restful sleep through the night as he required repositioning, the administering of “as needed” medication and oxygen management. I worried about my own ability to care for him as my exhaustion grew. Aspen Care, a Calgary based nursing care boutique company led by Shelley McLellan, LPN was hired to provide overnight care. They have made all the difference. Consulting with my husband’s doctors, they tailored his care to meet our challenges. Thanks to Aspen Care I am a better daytime caregiver as I now sleep through the night knowing he is well looked after. He is now stable with a better quality of life. Aspen Care was recommended to us by a dear friend who is a retired hospital and hospice Chaplain. We, in turn, recommend them to those seeking to keep a medically compromised loved one in the home for as long as possible. The nurses at Aspen Care will forever have our gratitude.
