I have been tobjust about every tackle store between Ontario and Alberta and have found some gems but this place is by far the best. Whether you are looking for every day terminal tackle or those hard to get specialty lures this place has it all. The young people working in the shop are knowledgeable and very friendly. It's a great spot.

I have been there twice in the last few weeks with my family and friends, every time I go there they are very knowledgeable and welcoming. This place is awesome for a novice or a seasoned veteran. I don’t know the young guys that worked this past Saturday but all I can say is you guys definitely need to be there more often! Thanks guys!

Ordered a Simms jacket for Christmas and turned out to be the wrong size. Contacted the Winnipeg location and was quickly transferred to Johnny in shipping who made this return process very simple. The customer service and professionalism from Johnny was incredible. Keep up the great work!

Brand stores generally have better prices, selection and return policies. I usually do my own research on products and purchase them at these stores online. I was in the market for a flip out ice shelter. I had researched and narrowed it down to one of two models plus accessories. Everyone was out of stock and with supply issues which seem to be prominent these days, I was determined to get one as soon as they arrived at the stores. Having just moved to Sask from BC, I was going to be out on that ice this winter and I was not going to be left out in the cold. My friend Todd had put me onto a store called Lake of the Woods Sports Headquarters (LoTW). I’ll be honest, I was reluctant as it was a smaller store that was located further away (Winnipeg and Kenora) and this made me somewhat skeptical about dealing with them. I waited and kept checking the websites and then boom, the shelters were available at Cabela’s who had a two-day sale, yet it only carried one version of the two models I was considering. I was hoping to clarify some details about these two models before I made a decision, but I did not want to miss out on getting a flip out ice shelter at a good price and knew I had to get on with it. I also checked the Canadian Tire website and it doesn’t carry flip out shelters. I then checked LoTW and it also had the shelters available, and not only was it slightly cheaper than Cabela’s, it had all of the available models and then some. Firstly, Cabela’s online product listings are quite basic for most things and, if you have ever called Cabela’s and sat on hold to talk to a salesperson about products, you know what a disaster that can be. Its one thing to work in retail, its another thing to have knowledge you can share with customers about the products. LoTW product write ups and pictures on its website are far superior. I decided to use the chat function on the LoTW website to ask questions and find out about shipping costs for an oversized item (both stores charge for them). It was around 11:00pm and I did not expect a response, yet I was in touch with a live person who not only advised he would telephone me the next day with a shipping quote for my order, he answered my questions about the products. The next day I received a call from Johnny at LoTW with a shipping quote he had obtained and he provided additional information I was seeking about the shelters. Luckily, my friend Todd just happened to be heading to Winnipeg for the weekend and volunteered to pick up my order and keep it at his home in Manitoba where I planned to visit in November to do some deer hunting. Johnny advised me if I wanted to have my friend pick up my order, that I could go ahead and submit it online and make a note during checkout about the fact Todd would pick it up. Johnny was extremely helpful and advised me he would pack everything up and email me when it was ready for Todd to pick up. At the end of the day, I shared at least four emails and two phone calls with Johnny that were answered promptly. There was no waiting on hold and it was all answers. I haven’t had customer service like this from a retailer in years. Not only that, I paid less for each of the 21 items I purchased as part of my order that I could have bought elsewhere, if they were even available at other stores, including Amazon. The other thing that really impressed me about my experience is that the people that work at LoTW are fishermen like me and they use the products and inform themselves about them so they can give me the feedback I need. While asking questions about products, if Johnny did not have the answer off the top of his head, he searched it out online and in catalogues while I was on the phone with him. There were no brush offs. Now that I have had this experience with LoTW, it will be at the top of my list for my fishing gear needs. My thanks to Todd for putting me onto LoTW, and my sincere appreciation to Johnny for a second to none shopping experience!

These guys are awesome! They have everything you can dream of. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. I give them 4.75 stars (it would be 5 if the prices of items were more visible.

Great local store and Merch. I went to buy a hoodie a month before Xmas, and no stock, told none arriving until sometime in the new year. Come on Managers… Order inventory when you know you’re heading into a busy season! Business 101. Otherwise 5 stars!

Worst tackle shop ever encountered.I bought a Gloomis IMX PRO here in 2019 and it cost me $500 after taxes and the sales told me it had lifetime warranty, unfortunately the top of the rod broke while I was grabing a channel catfish in 2020, and I took it to the shop , they told me to leave a phone number and promised to send me a new one within half a year, until now I haven't had any news about my fishing rod,They would not return my Gloomis even after they said they would,Won't be shopping there anymore.
