Both of my parents passed in the past 8 months. I tried to keep their cat Pebbles with me. Unfortunately, she did not acclimate with my 3 cats. Since she had been adopted from arlgp, I got in touch with them to see If I could surrender her. She was living under my bed and no matter how hard we tried would not cohabitate with my kitties. It broke my heart to bring her back but they were so understanding. I emailed them this week and she had already been adopted. Less than 2 weeks after we surrendered her. I'm grateful for such caring understanding people. Adopt don't shop people.

I had a chance to visit their new facility today at 217 Landing, and it looks amazing. The education program is very robust, and the staff is doing wonderful things to support animal well-being and increase awareness in our community for people of all ages. I was afraid it would be heartbreaking to see all the animals that need homes, but I left feeling very positive after seeing the animals well cared for and with a lot of opportunities to interact with people if the animals were willing. They have an excellent temporary home at the refuge. Please continue to support the fantastic work they do there.

I'm really disappointed with how disorganized and chaotic this place is. When you first get there, you are immediately shuffled into a line to wait to fill out adoption paperwork - before you've even had a chance to look at any animals and decide if you even want to adopt any animals. As a result, the process takes longer than it needs to and is clunky. It didnt seem like they were really interested in matching up good fits between animals and humans and instead the focus seemed to be in getting your personal and private info. into their computer. If you're looking for a cat, I would suggest HART Animal Rescue instead - you'll be treated like a person instead of a number. And if you're from the Refuge and you're reading this, you shouldnt be collecting people's personal info. unless they've found an animal that they are interested in adopting. You're making the process way more chaotic than it needs to be and it's the animals that will miss out on good homes. It was so chaotic and disorganized that I left shortly after entering as I felt the focus was more on getting people's personal info. into their database than it was on allowing people to spend quality and intimate time with an animal they will be bringing into their home permanently.

adopted Kettle on 5-12 from the Animal refuge league. The whole process was super easy with Pete. we told them what dog we were interested in and we started the process of meeting with her and introducing our other dog to her. Kettle is adjusting very well to her new home and is making great progress

Great place to find your new four legged family member. You help an animal find a home, while supporting an amazing non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals have another chance in life. Very kind and knowledgeable staff, great experience, and beautiful animals waiting for you to take them home.

This facility is amazing, never seen anything like it. Extremely clean. You can take a tour and know everything about their history. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I love that they really make sure the animals are going to a good family. They even make sure that the animal will do well with the other pets in the family.Their website is updated constantly, so you can always rely on it to look for your next pet.Their workshops are great too. The one we took was very helpful to learn more about how to train our dogs. They always offer events like yoga and galas.

Upon receiving more information about Mason from my post and getting a better understanding of his situation it seems the care they have for the cat is all well :) I was worried a bit about the lil guy but I'm glad they are doing their best to support him. ARLGP is a wonderful place. ❤️

We loved our adoption process for Jaxie. Garrett chose the perfect dog for our lifestyle. The facility is clean and organized. We were given a crate, a bag of toys and food, a certificate for $70 of food from The Fish & Bone, and a free vet visit. She had been spayed, microchiped, and given flea and heartworm medicine. We love Jaxie so much and are giving her a life of travel and adventure.

Very well run. Nice and clean, pets for adoption are well cared for. I got a great older cat who turned out to be a perfect fit in our household. The staff were very helpful as we decided on which kitty to pick.

I live in Cumberland Foreside, meaning I have a Portland zip code 04110. I recently had to surrender a cat with continence issues. We brought the cat to this place. They told us we had to bring the cat to BRUNSWICK. I was really confused because thier name says GREATER PORTLAND". They raise funds using that name when they only serve PORTLAND itself. I've donated to them becuase they misrepresent themselves this way. If they had any respect for people
