This is our first visit to RUH Adult emergency. My wife had a bad headache, and the health service advised us to go to the Emergency. We came here around 11 pm, and now it's 1.55 am. No doctors saw her. The front desk nurse said he didn't know how long it would take. Kids are sleepy, and exhausted. Nothing happens. We just informed them and left. We never want to get their support again. I hope we will find a better place in Saskatoon. RUH is best but their emergency service is very very poor.

Got brought in to RUH emerg because I’m having extreme abdominal pain from my PCOS flaring up. Possible burst cyst. Been here since 10:45pm it’s now 5:15am. I’ve seen the doctor once where she basically brushed me off and said that I should get an ultrasound but she doesn’t know if she wants to do it tonight or just send me home. I’m in so much pain that they’ve had to give me pain meds every 30-45 minutes. It’s excruciating. When I got a room I had a lovely nurse. One nurse that was good. The rest of them have been rude and snarky and just degrading. I feel like my pain is not being taken seriously. I got moved from my bed to a recliner chair in a hallway, the chair doesn’t recline properly the way I’m sitting is extremely uncomfortable and causing me more pain. My husband had to go ask for a nurse because no one was checking in on me. The nurse finally came by after another 10 minutes and she brought me anti nausea meds and took my vitals. Flushed my IV in the harshest f’n way possible and while I bawled my eyes out she didn’t ask howMy pain was doing, didn’t even try to make conversation to make me feel safer and better, no bedside etiquette. And when I told her that she was pushing the medication and then flushing the iv too hard she just shrugged me off and said “well you asked for it”. Absolutely unimpressed with this part of the ER. I’d give it zero stars if possible. The 1 star goes to my first nurse who took care of me.

I wish there was a zero star option. This ER is a joke. Takes 6 hours just to see a doctor. Don’t waste your time going here.Went in b/c I was suicidal. Was bawling my eyes out and hyperventilating and the triage nurse was laughing with her coworker as she triaged me. Extremely disrespectful when you have a patient having a panic attack right in front of you. This is just one of the many terrible experiences I’ve had there.

Treated me well, better than I could've asked and friendly staff.

0 stars. Absolutely HORRIBLE service. The nurses and doctors spend more time gossiping about their patients than actually helping them. I could recite every rude thing they said about someone because they were that loud. A young man came in expressing that he wanted to end his life and he sat there crying for 6 hours. Security then told him that it was up to him to leave and nothing was on “their hands”. A woman fell to the ground screaming and pain and a nurse walked by and said “get off of the floor and grab your things”. I myself came in with my tonsils touching making it very hard for me to breathe. 5 hours into waiting I’m told to buy some popsicles. At least PRETEND to care. These nurses are the reason people don’t ask for help. So disgusting.
