The Victorian at McKenzie

My grandparents moved in a few years ago and both found the staff, community environment, and grounds to be wonderful. The staff are warm and welcoming, and my family truly appreciates everything this place has done for them.

As a retired RN who specialized in gerontology, I knew what I wanted for my mother. My mother has lived at the Victorian on McKenzie now for one year. She has a lovely room, safe home, friendly efficient cleaning staff and maintenance staff. I have lunch at the Victorian about once a week. The meals are delicious and varied, and served by polite and friendly staff. My mom enjoys the bus trips and had said how nice the bus driver is. Lots of activities to choose from . The activity coordinator is creative and sets an inviting tone. Management staff are approachable and helpful. My mother has a quality life at the Victorian and I and our family enjoy visiting and when we leave we know she is in a safe and caring environment.

Lovely warm community. Interior of facility is very cheerful with well-appointed rooms, great windows, nice grounds with a walking trail. Staff is cheerful and friendly. Food has had its ups and downs over the last couple of years but is improving. Good value retirement living. My mother lived here for 2 1/2 years and enjoyed many aspects of living here.

This is a lovely retirement home. Really nice people.

Great place for retirement living

Clean, nice vibe, open space with nice garden. The food made me gag. I honestly feel guilty for my Grandmother. She's living the rest of her life eating little more than gruel, and I haven't the financial wherewithal to do anything about it

My Grandparents moved in years ago, it was a great place. Over time it was sold a few times, and every time the food quality and other things went down hill. Probably cost cutting to maximize Profits. I'm not sure if it's still privately run or the government own it. Definitely not worth the money but that's no different anywhere you choose.

I find it hard to believe that a widow would lose their significant other and a month later be expected to move from their apartment they once shared to a much smaller place. And on such a lower income now as well. Our friend lives there and has become friends with everyone and now the struggle is real. It's sad to watch really and I wish that somehow things could be different for them
