Unique Potlight

Allen and his assistant did an excellent job in installing pot lights in our basement. They were reliable, courteous and very efficient. The results were beautiful! I would highly recommend this company!

Allen and his team added pot lights to most of my house. They did fabulous work, Allen and his team were courteous and clean and accommodated some last minute modifications and requests. I would definitely use them again.

Alireza and Eman came to my home today to do some electrical work on my stove and washing machine/outlets. They were on time and came prepared to work with all necessary tools etc. I had communicated with Ali the day before so he was aware of exactly what needed to be done. Both men were friendly, kept my home tidy and got the job done quickly and efficiently. They were extremely affordable and I will definitely recommend Unique potlights and will use their services again in the future. Thank you both for a great job done in my home!

Summary: I would not recommend unique pot lightsPros- Allan was pleasant to deal with- quick installation 28 Pot lights were installed in ~6 hours- He did not make any extra holes in my ceiling which was also removing popcorn/smoothing = I did not have to pay the ceiling workers extra to patch holesCons- Did not install a dimmer recommended by the manufacturer causing a very loud buzzing- He did not actually hook up the lights/caps after finishing (I had to do this and took me +1hr to do)- Reneged on the initial agreement of installing a hanging light fixture over my stairsFull story:This review is nearly 1 year after the work done by Allan and 10 months of work from home (and a bit more experience with understanding home renovations/improvements).I was removing popcorn from my ceiling and wanted to replace the incandescent bulbs on my ceiling with potlights. The company doing the ceiling (separate) recommended Allan to do the potlights as they explained he was neat and didn’t make extra holes.Allan was very friendly and eventually we agreed on $60/light ($1680 total) to install 28 LED lights. I also requested to install a hanging light fixture over my stairs which Allan agreed to incorporate.On the day of the work Allan + the ceiling folks came in and when I showed him the hanging fixture and where it should be placed he started explaining that he did not realize we wanted to move the lights from their original position by about a foot and gave a price of an extra $1K to do this work (obviously to discourage me from agreeing to do it)Eventually I relented and said we would not install the hanging fixture and use only potlights. Allan initially estimated 2 days and finished the work within 6 hours. However he did not actually attach the LED lights to the junction box/driver. He insisted it would be super easy and i should just do it myself as he would need to wait until the ceiling dried.Again I relented (next time I would insist he do it) and it took me an hour plus. It was not challenging but did require some effort and was not like screwing in a bulb. It also meant i took on responsibility of damaging the outer part of the hole drilled as they are fastened to the drywall with spring clips. I think this is a reasonable expectation for the job to be considered completed.After I installed them I noticed that the master bedroom dimmer was buzzing very loudly. All dimmers for LED will have some level of buzzing but this one was particularly loud and audible even at the other side of the room. Allan agreed to come the next day and switched out the dimmer with an identical model. He said this was normal and nothing he can do because of the load of the room.Fastforward a year where I am at home much more frequently. This issue has become more of an irritation to the point where i barely use the lights in my bedroom and resort to lamps. Eventually I contact the light manufacturer and they give me a different dimmer they recommend as compatible with those specific LEDs. Low and behold I installed the dimmer and the buzzing is gone. This is the minimum homework I would expect an electrician to do when working on someone’s home.Overall the job was done neatly and quickly however the few issues encountered make me inclined not to recommend unique pot lights.

The best experience i ve ever had.. professional team that can handle the job so fast. Extremely recomended. If u need potlight in your place, go with this company.

As a ceiling contractor I use alan for my potlight installations.... he is potlight edith customers, works fast and efficiently..6 stars from me......
