They had the best grilled squid I had in Calgary.Presentation of food was good, but sushi overall tasted okay and didn’t stand out amongst other sushi restaurants. It’s a decent neighbourhood sushi restaurant.

Shijo Sushi is my first choice for sushi in Calgary. The fish is fresh, flavors and combinations amazing, and the plates are always beautifully done. Great rolls and the specials are always worth trying. Love this place!!

I still can't get over how good the sushi was last night. We ordered all three special rolls, in addition to the spicy salmon and tempura asparagus rolls. The specials were fairytale in autumn, unagi and dried bonito oshi (rectangular) and - our personal favorite - the Cajun styled seared tuna. Every single bite was so good and the last roll that we had was literally melt in your mouth delicious. There was even a debate at the end as to who would not get one last piece, that's how good it was. I would say that out of every sushi place I've been to in Calgary, from the most expensive to the least, this one is my absolute all-time favorite and I can't wait to go back. So good!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Phenomenal sushi - we got the deluxe set and it was more than enough for 2. Great selection of rolls and they even let us modify the last 2 rolls for a speciality roll (for an additional charge). I couldn’t even decide which roll I liked the most because they were all so tasty and flavourful. Highly recommend for a cozy dinner out

I order the lunch box with tempura, sushi and miso soup and all is tasted good.The salmon roll mixed with lemon sauce and it is so fresh.

Always have the best time here! The sushi and rolls are beautifully plated and so tasty!We tried their new menu items including the Sashimi Ceviche which was delicious!!Will be back for more!Thanks to Chef Sam for his beautiful food artwork

It was a great time, before another pandemic wave of restrictions.We went there 4 weeks ago, was around 530pm.Delicious food, fast service, friendly stuff!Good prices and portions. Unique dish - marinated mackerel!Fresh and tasty fish! Will definitely visit it again.Highly recommend

Solid spot just outside the heart of Kensington. Great quality but pretty pricey. Good presentation and plating, love that they do seasonal specials. Nice interior and good service as well.
