Shag Harbour Incident Society UFO Interpretative Centre

I stopped in a few days before The Museum was to open, Leslie was still painting the door frame when I arrived. I told him I had only heard of this a few days before, and was on vacation, so thought I would check it out. So I got to meet Leslie, and the other fellow, ( sorry forgot his name ) they were the first 2 guys that reported this Incident. We were a bit disappointed in this. I'm not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't a room filled with old newspaper clippings, so old they made the building very musty smelling. If you have asthma and really want to go in, wear a mask. Admission was $5.00 each and was told by the man there to read everything first and then he would answer any questions. We did recognize him from the newspaper clippings as being there the day it happened but we left after only 5 minutes, as my husband's asthma started to act up. It would have been nice to speak with him about his experience but felt we were kinda shut down the minute we walked in the door and maybe he was tired of repeating the same information? Could be wrong but that was our experience. Other's might be better. $5.00 is very steep though to read old newspaper clippings and children's school projects that were done many many MANY years ago. Just my opinion

10 minutes before closing on Monday, we arrived at this centre after the long drive. I thought we couldn't make the trip!Was it worth it? Definitely for UFO fans. Nothing special about this centre, except some news clippings on the wall. I purchased a book which is $10 cheaper than Amazon and I got the chance to talk to the witness who was the first person reported the incident to RCMP. That made my whole visit complete and it was only a start to dig into this case further.

Met with Laurie who was a hoot! The building contains information on eye witness accounts including personal write ups, news article clippings, and interpretative art.It’s not a museum, it’s an interpretative centre.The truth is out there.

Had an amazing chat with the curator, picked up some great merchandise as well.

A must stop while in Nova Scotia .Just West of Barrington NS take the 10 min drive and check out this place first stop in at the information center..The owner is fantastic and gives a great discripton of the events..Then head to the crash site up the road..a beautiful view . I could see fox Mulder and Scully all over this.. Canada's real XFiles..

Don't waste your time the phone number is out of service and we drove over 2hrs from our campground to see this and it wasn't open

We visited there when it said it was open but unfortunately it was locked up with no one on site.

It was great, a step back in time a d lots of reading. My suggestion would be better lighting as many areas were too dark for me and I ended up using my phone flashlight.

This is a quaint little passion project/museum to one of Canada's most interesting UFO encounters. I took my wife and kids on a roads trip to cruise the coastline of NS and this was our destination. A cute place for a UFO enthusiast in the Maritimes and run by some really nice folks!
