The Mad Hen
Had a good experience at this restaurant. Food was prompt and tasted very good. I ordered the medium poached eggs on the salmon locks with the bagel and just absolutely loved it. The sweetness of the sauce combined with the dill and other spices brought it to another level.

The Mad Hen has pretty extensive menu and a nice outdoor seating area to enjoy the sunshine whilst having our brunch.We had a couple of benedict, an omelette, Hash and calamari to share.They were all pretty good, I particularly enjoyed the Beachcomber's Omelette, Benny with Crab Cakes and the calamari!Loved the Benny with crab cake and avocado, a good mix, very delicious.Beachcomber's Omelette was a substantial portion filled with veg and smoked Salmon.Will definitely go back again on my next visit to Gibsons!

Awesome brunch spot! My partner were visiting from Vancouver and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and drinks. Was a great way to send off our trip. The staff was quick and friendly, they even had a pretty good sense of humour (your camouflage joke does not go forgotten!)Highly recommend for some tasty and affordable grub with a modern and fresh twist. If we’re ever in town, we will be back!

The food was not bad, but I did not find it to be anything special. Especially the “hash browns” which were simply potatoes that were super dry and cardboard tasting. The French toast was not much better in terms of being yummy. I did like that they offered tater tots and the egg benny was not bad.Overall, I enjoy the atmosphere and I love the ambience of this place. The patio is amazing on a sunny day and the decor is super cute. I probably wouldn’t visit again for the food though, quality was lacking.

Best brunch I've had in years! The salmon feta sweet potato omelette: to die for! Friendly staff and an excellent venue. Will definitely visit again soon.

I came to The Mad Hen to go get takeout for the first time as I was leaving the Sunshine Coast. All the ladies there were super attentive and happy regardless of how busy the restaurant was. I was told there would be a wait which I expected and my food was ready within the time the server told me. When I went to pay I was told that someone already paid it for me! That act of kindness really shows the kind of people the restaurant attracts. After starting my day on a not so good note that completely turned around after my visit here. The food was delicious with great gluten free options as well. Thanks Mad Hen for a great experience!

Food and coffee was good, music was good, washroom was clean. I recommend the crab cake benny. Alina is the backbone of this restaurant.

Ok so good is above average but service…. Service could be improved upon. Came to see us once for order (15 minutes after we had sat down) and then once right after food had landed not even giving us the time to try it before asking how the food is (considering it wasn’t very busy). Brought me the wrong item and even though I tried waving them over they never came. Gave up and ended up eating anyways. Then finally when the hill comes and I just point out that they brought the wrong item they tell me IM WRONG even though I’m not asking for any kind of restitution or substitution. I’m a general contractor I always make it clear to the client and double check by habit so when I order I ask them to repeat and point out on the menu with my finger so there isn’t any confusion but still they ducked up. If only you could give negative tips. I gave 10% and immediately regretted it but oh well what can you do. Aside from not recommending the place and never coming back eh. Cheers.

This was the last meal we had before leaving the Sunshine Coast and I'm very glad we did.This place has a great atmosphere, aesthetic and vibe and the food is delicious. We both had variations of eggs Benny and they were fantastic.We ate at the bar and it was really cool to see all the staff at work, and how clean everything is! They take care of their stations and equipment very well.If you are going to have breakfast out here, this is the place to go!
