I've gotten sushi from Oroshi twice now and both times they've knocked it out of the park.First time I tried the omakase set for 2 which was so good. It was a great way to try some of the fancier sushi options at an affordable price point without feeling like you sacrificed quality. The tunas all melted in my mouth and the hand roll are top notch.Second time I got the premium set to eat in the park with friends and I've been thinking about the scallops and salmon ever since.

We order one premium omakase set to try it out. The flavor is good. But the sushi rice is very disappointing. it doesnt seem fresh at all. the texture is very hard and dry. almost half of the sushi rice splits into 2 pieces. Not worth the price.

Amazing sushi! The little hole in the wall is accessible through a lane way with their blue sign barely visible from College St so drive slowly so you don't miss it!To access the pick up location you need to climb two steep steps- so it is definitely not wheelchair accessible.Once you enter the interior you are greeted by large, glass pane refrigerators holding huge fish.Behind the pick up counter numerous sushi chefs are hard at work preparing multiple orders. There is no seating and expect to plan your order at least one day in advance of you want to have your choice of pick up times. The fish is very high quality, expertly cut and the rice is good. What's most amazing is the prices! Good sushi is becoming more and more expensive in Toronto and this price point is affordable for more than once a year experience.Love this new place! It's a fast favourite and I will be returning to get the omakase again!

Tried omakase at a Michelin spot in ginza/Tokyo so I expected that I would be paying more for the food and experience.Went to oroshi and saw that there omakase was 50 before tax. I figured it was quite a deal compared to what other restaurants in the Toronto area that did offer omakase were charging. Also found it weird, the iPad was asking for tips in bright lettering. I obliged and tipped on takeout at a restaurant that I'd never been to before.Wasn't impressed. Maybe for 25 bucks but definitely not worth 50 + tax and + tip.Friend that works as a chef that came with me gave it. 3.5/5 starsWe both thought it was cool that you were provided with the ingredients to make your own roll and a cute bottle of soy sauce.

This is a take out only, sushi market. Within 2 weeks of their opening we have visited twice! We like the premium sushi set and sashimi platter. There are lots of options to add sushi pieces as well. Quality is excellent, portion size good, price is also fair.Only comment is that the California rolls tend to stick to the container slightly. However, that is due to the material of the container. Most of the packaging is recyclable, which is very important to me personally. No black plastics!Oroshi is available on Uber, but we chose to pick up. Ordering directly on the website is more convenient and cheaper than Uber. You can select the time for pick up and receive an email/text confirmation immediately. (The order receipt is proper and good for expensing!)This will be my go-to sushi place from now on.

Such a cool takeout location. Got their premium sushi set and while it doesn’t come with a lot of varieties, the fish was high quality and tasted good. It also came with fatty tuna and I don’t usually see that included in reasonably priced sets often. The crispy nori on the hand roll was a nice touch. Definitely recommend!

Came here twice during my week in Toronto! Difficult to find aged sushi in the UK, especially at this price range. Both the nigiri and sashimi melts in your mouth, and I really appreciate the cutting of these delicate fish. My favourites were hotate the scallop and ika the squid. Temporarily satisfied my cravings for sushi back home

Come here for premium takeout sushi in Toronto! And remember to order off their website in advance so you don’t have to wait at the shop.I’ve been here a couple of times and have tried the premium sushi set, omakase, and the 40 party tray. We usually come here for the omakase. If you’re feeling a bit of a splurge, the omakase is definitely the way to go - good variety and premium quality. The premium set and party trays have less of a variety, but the quality is still great. It’s not cheap but for the quality of the fish, the prices are definitely fair and good value. Can’t wait to go again soon!

Full disclosure: If someone hypes anything up to me, my expectations go unreasonably high, and 9 times out of 10 I end up disappointed. Given the sky-high hype for Oroshi, it's a testament to how good it is that, while I don't think it's the perfect sushi takeout and fish market in the city, it's still really good.Dropped by and got one omakase set and one premium sushi set. I get all the praise for the omakase - the fish is melt-in-your-mouth good, the variety rivals the sit-down omakases out there. At $50, it's a bit pricey though, and I'm not sure if its more limited selection makes me prefer just paying the $150 at a sit-down spot. As for the premium sushi set, the quality was easily better than your average sushi spot, but the price was also higher at $30. Not quite sure if it was worth it given it still was the typical sushi types. Having had both sets, I'd definitely recommend the $50 omakase over the $30 premium sushi - just more unique and better value.Overall, I get the Oroshi hype. While it didn't quite get to 5-star level for me, it's definitely still worth a try.

Sushi quality was pretty fresh. The selection was nice and totally satisfied my cravings. Bonus points for cute tiny soy sauce bottle that was equally efficient and aesthetically pleasing~
