Both my parents are clients here. The staff is paid full time wages with benefits so they are invested in the long term. My parents were at a private home before, where the corporation relied on cheap labour by minimizing full time workers and charging extra for every little service. If you let workers see a future for themselves at the workplace, they are going to work harder and be more accountable.

My partner's grandmother resided at Bethany Lodge for several years. She was so well cared for here by all the staff who are so personable. I witnessed it first-hand. Her skin glowed. The facilities are beautiful, both the bedrooms and the public spaces.

My mother was temporarily placed for 8 months in one of Revera's privately run nursing homes. It was a horrible place in the dementia section. When Bethany Lodge informed of a vacancy in their Harrington House section, I accepted based on an earlier tour. After almost 5 years living at Bethany, I can report that it is a dramatic improvement.
