This school is absolutely trashy. They do not care about teaching kids nor caring about students. Issues are never handled well. The principal is probably someone they found off the street she can’t handle the position. Don’t consider going to this school.

I used to go to this school for about 7 years and up to grade 3 it was a great school but after that I learned nothing and all the teachers where super rude to children except for a few select ones and since moving to a new school I have been behind in my learning compared to everyone else

This wasn't the right fit for our kids (or us). That being said, it's a great community for those whose families attend here.

Both my by kids love it here. My younger son has a speech delay and they have been great with building his esteem and fostering his growth. My eldest son used to have outburst issues and the school has helped him calm down and recognize when he’s getting upset. Both of my kids are excelling higher than their expected grade level and reading, writing, and math.

It was a great school during elementary but going into grades 7 and up you really do not learn anything except for art. I have moved to a different school now and am far behind. People who stay for grade 9 will find it very dufficulg to transition into highschool. Not worth your time.

I've been here for 10 years and there are some teachers that bully the students and though the multiple complaints of teachers they still don't get fired. the whole class could be learning nothing but that teacher stays. i found it pretty easy to learn majority of the time though.

The atmosphere of the school is great but they do not focus enough on the education.

I attended this school for the very first year of it opening. At that time, it was only kindergarten to grade 6 and then there was one class of grade 7 students and one 8-9 split. The school was housed in what was formerly Glenbrook or Glendale elementary school if I remember correctly. Either way, it was a typical old, one floor building with an addition of an outside portable classroom. I come very a artistic family. So much so that we have owned several high end art galleries through Calgary and Portugal. Naturally when my father heard that this school would be opening in September of that year he decided to send me to it for my final year of Junior high school. It was only a ten minute walk from the school I had been attending which was Vincent Massey Jr. High which was a great school. I expected a similar experience at this new school as I had at my former one but it was nothing close. I believe heavily in the importance of art and freedom of expression and the necessity of installing it in children at young age so that it plants a seed early on that will continue to flourish as they go through life and beyond. To sum up my experience, it was a great concept but they did not have all the kinks worked out. Classes and their planning were disorganized, especially when it came to the core academic areas. I feel there should have been a clearer separation between the academics whilst still keeping things in an artistic direction as much as possible without any detrimental effects on the academic progression of the student. When I attended Sr. High the following year I sat in class for my FIRST day of math 10 pure which at the time was the highest level math course for my year group. Within 20 minutes of the class beginning I realized I had no idea what was going on and that to everyone else this was basic stuff. I don’t know how the school is now but I think if it were my children I would feel very comfortable sending them there for the younger years and then switch them to a more traditional school when the process of comprising knowledge together to build on year after year begins. Although I was the first class to “graduate” from there so it might be worth taking the time to look at what the school had to offer academically these days. Sorry for the long post. Hope it was informative.
