Classic Chimney Sweeping

I originally called Buster around 2 weeks ago and he returned my call within one hour. We arranged for him to clean my chimney this morning. He contacted me last week to confirm our appointment and then again today to confirm he was on his way. I appreciated how responsive he was and felt comfortable planning my morning around our appointment. He arrived on time, was cordial at the door. He came inside with tarps and a carpet, noticed a grate we have that surrounds the fireplace to protect our young children, and became immediately very unhappy. He said working around the grate would take way more time than he budgeted and ruin his day. I was surprised to hear this as 4 previous chimney people had worked around the grate without any problems or complaints. Buster told me it was too dangerous to get on the roof and I should have done this in the summer. He then started to mumble (incoherently to my ears) and pack up his gear. There was no attempt to try and clean the chimney, no discussion about re-appointing when we could arrange to disassemble the grate, no apologies for his unwillingness to do the job, only mumbling in unhappy tones. He picked up his tarps and carpet and was gone. I was not happy about his lack of professionalism and would be hard pressed to recommend him to anyone.

Buster came to my rescue with my chimney was in need of servicing on short order. I appreciated his hard working attitude and excellent customer service. He is very knowledgeable in his profession which was apparent when I asked many questions. He answered my question with patience and explained things in a way I could understand. I was very satisfied with the work he did. I would highly recommend him, and will be calling him again when I need chimney servicing.

Buster was prompt and courteous. He listened to my problem and came and fixed the situation. He and his team are very professional and cleaned my chimney. Pricing was fair and work was done quickly and thoroughly.

The person who pick up the call gave me a quote, and I told him my friend gave me a different quote. He thought I was trying to bargain and he hung up on me, while I was speaking politely and asking in a friendly manner why he gave a different quote from a friend of mine who told something different. It's not acceptable and very rude to hung up on clients. If they can't even service you right on the phone, how can I trust them servicing my chimney right?
