Proactive Seniors was instrumental in supporting me in keeping my husband, who had dementia, at home. Kathy is unbelievably knowledgeable and has so many resources at her fingertips. She truly cares. I am a registered PhD Audiologist in Calgary who has worked with Kathy and Proactive Seniors over the past year and a half. She took the time to learn about hearing loss in seniors and the resources available to them in Calgary by meeting with me on several occasions. She wanted to be knowledgeable about this information for her clients and their families. I can tell by her interest level in the material regarding the importance of treating hearing loss with regards to brain health, and her interest in helping people that she and her team take excellent care of the families that they are supporting (I know some of her other team members as well). I can certainly tell from our healthcare discussions that Kathy is extremely intelligent and has taken a great deal of time to educate herself about the local Calgary resources for all aspects of senior care. Because of her diligence in doing so, she is able to efficiently get to the heart of the matter with her clients whether it is finding a new place of residence or making Geriatric or Dementia support plans. Kathy took the stress of finding a place for my father away. She met with us as a family in the hospital and spent time getting to know my Dad and our requirements. Kathy was amazing. She gave us the lay of the land and was able to provide research to support her recommendations. Instead of my parents hearing about retirement living just from me, they were able to hear it from someone who specializes in this. Plus, working with Kathy took a TON of the legwork out of it for me. With over 50 facilities in the city, it would have taken me months to sort through it. Kathy responded in a very timely fashion and with great care and compassion. She asked great questions to get good information from me. She was very thoughtful and kind throughout the process and it was very comforting to have her on my side. Kathy and Judy have been so caring and incredibly supportive for my mom prior to her passing. They made her happy and comfortable in her own home and Judy was able to build a strong and lasting friendship with my mom.
