First time here and it was beautiful. Despite it being a bit icy, kids all had a blast looking for different animals and trying to get the many birds to land on their arms. Day ended when my youngest slipped and hit her head. But we'll be back when it's not as icy!

There was only one other car in the parking lot. I see why. Just a bunch of sticks sticking out of the ground. Really exciting stuff.

This is a hidden gem a short distance from Edmonton where you can get close to nature on gently groomed trails. There are several trail loops of various lengths to enjoy. These trails are right in the bush and are enjoyable to walk. There is some elevation on the trails to make it interesting. This area is directly east of the University of Alberta Botanical Gardens so you could make it a day of and see lots of nature. There is parking and washrooms available. I definitely recommend this place.

One of our favourite natural respites from the city! Our family loves the peace and beauty of Bunchberry’s trails especially the beautiful larch and paper birch forests. On our last visit, in October 2022, we registered online to take a guided tour hosted by the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Our guide, Eugene, was quite knowledgeable about the area’s flora and fauna and we all learned something new.Eugene spotted a tiny deceased shrew which none of us had ever seen before. It was super tiny and we were all surprised to learn that shrews are not rodents but instead related to moles. Please note for those who are squeamish: I have included pics of the dead shrew.*Washrooms are available on site.*Doggos are not allowed at Bunchberry.

My first time here and it was so beautiful. I've never seen so much birch. It painted a gorgeous white canvas. I can only imagine how breathtaking it will be in the summer. The trail is a loop a little over three kilometers. It's an easy trek with slight elevations. Nothing to crazy. The folks are friendly. There was a lot of skiers, since the trail in near perfect for it. We'll worth the drive.

Excellent easy hike a few minutes outside of the city. Scenic and well taken care of with a washroom on site.

Had a wonderful snowshoe here today, the trails are well marked and easy to follow. Scenery is very beautiful with few people around. We had snowshoes but the trails are well packed and you could walk with just boots. Many animal tracks of all kinds and lots of birds as well. Toilets and picnic benches are at the large parking lot.

Lovely old growth forest with a wide variety of tree species. A great place to walk and enjoy the outdoors. There are biffies and picnic tables and a pretty good sized parking lot.

Nicely maintained walking/hiking trails, quite easy and great to visit year round. Not too far out of the city. Had to detour a little bit to get there due to construction at the moment.
