Interesting museum, definitely worth visiting for any adults seeking more about the history of Montreal, but a little difficult for those who bring their kids.

In depth, interestingly laid out exhibits on Montreal's history and a fascinating temporary exhibit on 1600s Paris. Included a short virtual reality experience. The museum is bilingual and parking is discounted with purchase of museum tickets. Beautiful spot for a picnic.

Location is difficult to find. In the innermost part of the island, the island is very chaotic, there are always activities, a lot of people, very chaotic, go inside quiet many, this time did not enter, said that the ticket is 15 Canadian dollars, a little expensive, there is no free museum day, let's talk about it later.

A surprisingly good museum stashed away on the island. We really enjoyed the displays as well as the interesting layout and history of the facility. It was also really nice that it wasn’t overrun with tourists like so many other museums tend to be.

Very cute little museum along the Biosphere area. It shows the interesting history of Montreal and had a fun interactive games exhibition when I was there. There is also a observation deck that offers a nice view of the city alongside the river.

it's a beautiful museum looks like a fortress. it is small with three floors and the exhibitions are on the 2nd and 3rd floor. compared to other museum in Montreal, this one is less kids friendly and my son was not very interested. the parking is quit expensive as well, 10$ for one hour and 15$ for two hours.

This was nice history museum to check out during the winter holidays. It was not too busy and you can see all the different exhibits without it using up a lot of your day.

I was there in NoV 2018 for the exposition Paris en Vitrine, very well placed exposition, amazing distribution of the objects and explanation of Paris in 18th century, excellent use of technology and virtual reality, courteous staff, easy explanation on each item, self driven visit with a leaflet in French and English, try to booked/reserve your seats for the free film well in advanced for your visit, check in the website for the film availability.Best access to museum is by metro, especially in winter time.

Nice museum off the beaten track. Located on beautiful Ile Saint Helen. The permanent exhibit on the history of Montreal is very interesting. Located in an old fort built by the English in the early 1800's, the place is filled with history. Beautiful views of downtown from the courtyard.
