Made a appointment 3 weeks ago to have some work done on my boat on Aug 4th. Stopped in on the 31st to see if I could drop it off on Saturday because I wouldn't be able to get there by 5 o'clock on 4th. He didn't have any record of my appointment, said he doesn't have the time, asked if I could wait another week. Don't take your boat here

Dropped my boat off last week of February 2021 for an oil leak repair. Explained to the owner I need it back by May 16th and he said “no problem”. 8 weeks later absolutely NO work had been done. Reminded him mid April of the date I needed it back and again he said “no problem”. He repaired and sent away at least 4 other boats that came in AFTER mine. He caused me to miss Lingcod/Shrimp season and lose over $350 of deposit for reservations on Orcas Island. I removed my boat half finished and took it to a “reputable” Marine Repair shop to be finished.Work Performance Issues:> Left parts laying around the boat everywhere, including the outboard motor engine mount> Left my 2 year old exhaust manifolds/risers laying out in the rain on the stern of my boat to rust.> He did get a new water pump installed in 8 weeks, however, he forgot to install the hose clamp on the lower outlet hose.> In 2020 he repaired a water heating issue for the cost of over $600, and I thought he had installed a new one for that cost. 3 rd time out I began hearing a “bearing” noise. I asked the owner if it could possibly be the new seawater pump. He said “it’s not new, I rebuilt your old one, besides, they don’t have bearings, they have bushings”. Turns out they do have bearings and the owner simply lied to me.The owner works by himself and has “TOTAL” disregard for Client Satisfaction.I recommend you take your boat elsewhere if you expect “quality/timely service” because it certainly will not happen here!Owner’s Response:Response from the owner 17 minutes agoSo sorry you feel this way David,You missed your orginal appointment!I tried to fit you in and do my best with your vessel! You made demands that were out of my control, as parts and shipping is super crazy right now and this has a domino effect, everyone's boat is delayed to some extent right now.I won't put up with your lies about my work! Everything you said is not the truth! My work is at the highest standards in the industry! To bad you didn't have the patience to find this out!I am Sorry you didn't have a good experience we will do better in the future!Dave Owen Response to Owner:Missed my original appointment:Response: My appointment was for December 24th and we had 6 inches of snow on the ground! You did your “best” to fit me in”Response:Your “best” was to fit me in the last week of February.I made “demands” that were out of your control”. WOWResponse: My only request was to have my boat returned by May 16th. Something you agreed to twice, especially since that gave you 10 weeks to do the work.“Parts and Shipping are super crazy right now”Response:That excuse had absolutely nothing to do with you delay of over 8 weeks to even touch my boat while you were working on others that arrived after mine. You pulled my motor on April 27th (8 weeks after I dropped it off) and texted me to come and look at the motor. You told me then you had ordered the oil line part. 12 days later you texted me that you had ordered the part (after you told me on the 27th you had already ordered it) and would not make the May 16th finish date. “Flash”Had you not waited 8 weeks to start, ordering parts would NOT have been an issue at all.“You won’t put up with my lies”Response:Each and every complaint I have posted is absolutely the truth and Unfortunately you know it! Your simply trying to CYA by posting otherwise. Which verifies your dishonesty. Pretty sad!“You will try to do better next time”Response:Sorry, there will never be one for me and hopefully those reading this will feel the same.

General maintenance. Do what it takes so I don't see you until next year. Priced fair.

Troy has always done our boat work, he always does things to the exact manufacture specification. We've never had an issue with his work or professionalism. We have a cabin out on stuart Island so our boats being top condition is vital. I've owned businesses in the past and usually a bad review is more of a reflection on customers not being straight forward with what their boat actually needs.
