Résidence Montfort Renaissance

Visited this lovely quaint residence (50 residents) alongside the head of the administration/head nurse who was simply delightful. She gave us a tour of the establishment and informed us of all of its perks. All in all, a beautiful gem in the centre town of Ottawa.

Great staff. Very Caring. Pharmacy is a block away and they deliver meds to the care home. Food is tasty and varied, 3 meals a day plus snacks. Guigues Senior centre for francophones is across the street. Paid parking but you can park for free a few blocks away on Dalhousie etc. They have a Nurse Practitioner that visits once a week. You can also book an appt Eleuthera an on-site hairstylist and foot care. Little outdoor area for smokers, and covered gazebo with a tree for non smokers. It’s non-profit so the price ranges as per your income but it is cheaper than all the other retirement homes. It’s primarily a French speaking place although they do speak English. Located in the heart of the Byward Market. The only thing is my mom found the room very warm and she couldn’t turn down the heat. And the window only opens 3 inches so it was quite warm and dry in her room. That being said, at least she wasn’t cold and damp. They have bday cake etc if it’s your bday. Also bingo days. A little flower or veggie garden spot would be a nice addition. I am grateful to Adelyne and Miriam and all the great staff there!
