Sam was quick to respond and to come to our place to provide a quote. We had a 100+ year old chimney that needed to be taken down to roof level. He did a great job and matched the shingles perfectly. Price was fair too. Definitely recommend.

Sam came by the day after I asked for a quote and gave a fair estimate and didn’t pressure me into making a decision. He finished the job quickly and tidied the premises and volunteered to help me with an issue with my fireplace dampener at no extra cost. Definitely would recommend and will engage his services again for future work.

We asked for a quote to rebuild our chimney but decided not to go ahead with it. Then one day a pallet of cinderblock and mortar got dropped on our front yard. We called Nickel Masonry and they told us they had scheduled the work to start on Monday even though we never told them we were moving forward. They said they had left us a voicemail (which we never received) and I guess they thought that was enough to establish a contract or something. They then offered to do the work at a reduced price, but threatened to raise the price again if we decided to move forward at a later date. Anyway we told them we weren’t interested and they came and picked up the pallet, but not before driving a forklift onto our lawn and causing damage to our garden bed.I can’t speak to the masonry but based on the lack of professionalism with which they run their business, I wouldn’t be surprised if they cut corners on the masonry side as well.

The fireplace in our 42 year old home was leaking every time it rained heavy. Sam re-pointed the chimney and repaired the flashing. He was honest about what worked needed (and not worth) to be done, both for the chimney and other repairs around the house. No more leaks, even after 'atmospheric river' rain! Pricing was very reasonable compared to other quotes I received. Would recommend without hesitation.

We recently upgraded our fireplace which required installation of a new tile. Sam and his partner did a fantastic job installing the glossy tile we have selected. The installation was more challenging than the original due to extension of the fireplace wall to accommodate the new fireplace, and the need to install the tile on the sides.
