Absolutely rude, terrible people and service! Do not go here! I just needed one loop replaced at the end of my necklace that broke off. A better business might have done it for free in good faith, since it was bought here, and then I would come back in future. They charged $15. It was only worth $26. Fine, times are tough. I asked if they could do a little clean of the locket while they were at it. they said yes but not a full polish or that would cost extra. Again fine. Returned it to me repaired but black & tarnished as before. Said they had no record of that, scoffed and belittled me. I asked her what I could use to clean it, she ignored me. I asked her in a different way a few more times, she still didn't seem to understand. Second they couldn't find a record of my credit from last year, and accused me of lying! Then the owner was literally yelling (in front of other customers) at me when I asked if I could use a prepaid credit card! Who does that?! I asked if she could try it, please. No! Accused me of being a crook!!! I was so shocked! Then she got her staff to yell at me and call me names! I just wanted to pay and leave! Absolutely disgusting! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME!!!! NEVER AGAIN!

Good watch in; broken watch outI brought my digital watch to Bishop Jewellers to have a new battery installed as I've done with them for several years. Every time, they have returned the watch in perfect condition, with the correct time set.This time, however, I thought it strange that the correct time was not set when I came to pick up the watch. When I got home I found out why: The watch was broken; the minutes could not be changed. I phoned and told them that there was no way I would have brought a damaged watch to them to have a new battery installed. Something had happened to the watch while it was in their hands. They refused to accept any responsibility and would not even refund me the $15 for the new battery. Fortunately, there are lots of reputable jewellery stores near me who I will deal with from now on.

Got our wedding bands custom made here. They did a good job. Came back a year later because it seemed my stone was a little loose. They fixed it without charging. Happy overall with service.

Worst Retail experience of my life. Bought a simple necklace for my wife only to find she had an almost identical necklace already at home. As money was tight at the time we mutually decided to return it to fix the car, Too bad this place has a STRICT no return policy! Believing the quantity of gold would maintain value brought to my attention the mark up at this place is 400%. Paid $500, traded necklace in for $100 literally days after purchase.

This warning is addressed to anyone seeking to have a watch, or piece of jewelry repaired, adjusted or otherwise by this business. Take photos of your items in the store and for good measure, have them do the same. The reason is simple, they do not accept any responsibility for items that are returned to you in worse condition as when you first took them in. Absolutely atrocious service, to the point of being arrogant and downright rude. Beware those who enter here !!!

I wish I had read these reviews prior to stopping in for a minor repair to a sentimental necklace left to my son by his late papa. Born and raised in north van and with parents running a long standing lonsdale business of their own, I relied on their years in service to be good. My mistake. True, I did get the quote of $100 before leaving it there. When picking up expecting a hearty lobster claw or something significant to warrant the price to further beef up this vulnerable but irreplaceable chain - I questioned it? Another mistake as I was berated, scolded and embarrassed in front of other customers. Worst customer experience of my life. Can’t be original owners or family run biz anymore.

I brought my ring in to be fixed. The amber stone in my ring has what looks like a layer of film over it and there are 2 scratches in the stone. All I needed was the band fixed where it had cracked. They suggested it was like that. It was not. They also suggested that they have their stone cutter give ME an estimate to fix it. I asked THEM to make it right. They would not.I will definitely take a photo before in the future (it’s not really something I had thought I would need to do). A confusing and disappointing outcome, as I have bought lots of jewelry there and have had great experiences so far. Until today. It WAS my go to place.

I needed a battery replaced in my watch. I went to Hudson's Bay and nearly fell over when I was told it would cost $47.50 plus tax, and I would get it back in 5 days. Guess what I told the guy to do? Correct!I then took it to Bishop's Jewellers on Lonsdale and 16th, North Van. The cost was $20 plus tax, and I got my watch back in less than 30 minutes.

Did not get the timely service I expected for a aray of reason's but they kept my trust. Thoughful communication and good customer service won my trust. Nice to have a local north shore full service jeweler.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Bought a $500 necklace and $100 bracelet for my girlfriend and had to bring the bracelet back for repairs three times in the first two weeks. Once because they didn't do a repair that I had noted when I brought it in (just a simple clasp tightening), and when I asked if it could be expedited so I didn't need to come back another day the owner Hovig (complete chucklehead) had the audacity to blame me for him forgetting to fix it. The saleswoman at the counter (who is an angel to be fair) admitted i had noted the issue prior. Hovig was obnoxiously rude & a complete embarrassment of a business owner. Probably got ripped off on the necklace after reading the reviews about this place on here lol. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
