Love/Hate relationship with this company. I always wondered how they make their money lol but I found out they make money with hidden fees. Always check your statements because they once charged me for a trip I never initiated! (Happened only once, been using service for over a year). I got one ticket, and it was my last time because they charge you the same amount for an admin fee". Not sure what that fee is for

I got a car share to rip around and do a few donuts in the Sobeys parking lot. So far so good. One time had a hybrid which didn't drift too well, but another time had an old hundi (I think) and tore the arse right outof that one. They billed me for leaving the car in a noparking zone downtown, but that's life I spose. MAy or may not have left a dog dookie in the back seat on another trip, but if i Did nobody noticed.Car shares great b'y. Highyl reccomend for rippin around the north end.

Was told that we did not pass the credit check and that we needed to pay $500 for another membership. I gave them my card number and was assured that no money would be taken out until the application was approved. It was only after they had my card number that they made the locations of the cars available for me to see. Upon realizing that there were no cars even remotely close to where we lived, we cancelled the application and were assured three times that no money would be taken out. Imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning to find $500 from CarShare taken out of my account. Naturally, I attempted to contact them but it's easier to visit Narnia. We were eventually assured by Casey B" that they would be processing my refund today and now at 5:38 I still do not have the money. Of course I tried to contact them but I could not get past their hold music and was eventually told that their offices are closed

Been with them about 3 months and pretty content. Nice to have access to a car without worrying about maintenance, insurance, etc. Generally pretty easy to get a car when needed. Cars are clean and in good order.

The unit’s maintenance is really poor, except for the new ones while they’re new and all flex. Don’t recommend to modify your trip if you don’t need it as long as you though , doesn’t matter!!! they will charge you the complete time, even of you stop using the car and they rent it 5 min later. If you get a car and don’t need it, keep the keys with you until the very end.Last but not least if you booked by mistake on the same day, don’t cancel it, they will still charge you.

I have had communauto for months and not once have I got to reserve a single car. Sometimes, the cars parked near me that I see physically doesn't even show on the map. It's not well managed and it's too busy, too many people are using it. Cancelling my membership.

Just moved to Halifax without a car. We were nervous about being carless, but Communauto has really been a blessing. They have an adequate supply of vehicles and there always seems to be one relatively close by for a quick errand or a longer day trip. The pricing and rates are a bit confusing, but in the end, the comparison between occasional rentals with Communauto versus car (or second car) ownership is obvious: car sharing is substantially more economical.

Was with them for two years. I got an email stating I had left cat hair in the car. First warning. I contacted them and told them it wasn't me. And it wasn't. Few weeks later same thing happens. Again I tell them it wasn't me. Both times they told me the complaint would be taken off my record. Third complaint came. This time it was sand in the car. Told them again it wasn't me. Turns out the sand was in the back of the car where I never looked. Why would I? Got a $50 fine for third offense. They outright lied about taking the first two complaints off my record. Also claimed the first two complaints were becuase I failed to notify them of the cat hair, not that it was from my cat. Lienumber two. The first two complaints were only ever about that it was my cat. And I never saw the cat hair. How can I report something I never saw. Lies, predatory fines, zero accountability. They just send off there warnings from their office and you have no way of fighting back. I was a responsible user who never left a mess. Yet I'm held acountable for someone else's mess I never saw? Did they find the person who actually left the messes and fine them too? Or just me? Contemptible company policies. Also, while the service may work for short distances, for longer rides it's cheaper to just rent acar, and you won't get fined for things that aren't your fault. Bought myself a really good bicycle. I can live just fine without Communauto's BS.

Have used their cars both flex and round trip vehicles for 2 years now. Convenient and pretty good for the money. Don't need to worry about maintenance and parking. Just occasional gas trips

I signed up for CarShare a few months ago after being told that I would receive my welcome package" with my key fob (and therefore be on the road) in 4 days. It took WEEKS to receive this welcome package
