On Side Restoration Services

My experience was with the Calgary team.Ok communication. Poor execution. Would strongly recommend against using them.Plumbers left a tiny gas leak when re-installing my gas stove. It took us a while to detect it because it was very small.I had water damage on a relatively large section of hardwood. The initial person who came out to do estimate thought I was crazy for wanting them to replace the entire floor (it was a townhouse, not some huge mansion), and said they could easily blend in new wood to replace bad wood. Hardwood company did a very poor job, put in cheap wood, and THE NEW WOOD started having noticeable gaps within 3 weeks (the existing wood was fine).The company they brought in for doing finishing work mostly did a good job. However, instead of using the paint I provided (and clearly labeled what each paint was for), they went out and bought a completely different brand and sheen of paint for one of my paints. Once I realized this (I found their new can of paint in my garage), I had to go back over the affected spots myself.Whoever they hired for the drywallers, movers, and cleaners, were top-notch.They did send someone to fix the gas leak.They did send someone to look at the hardwood. I was given the typical run-around of this is to be expected blah blah" even though it looks really bad. If I would have known it was expected to look like really bad

Calvin was an amazing help with out basement. We had a problem with our basement and he helped repaint he walls and installing new trims. Truly a wonderful man of utter composure. Calvin had wonderful manners and was a spectacular person to have fix our basement.Thank you Calvin and onside restorations!

We had a huge water leak from our furnace that went unnoticed for several months Normally, I am the first to complain when I get bad service, but I can honestly say the On Side restoration job that was done was outstanding from the beginning to the end!! From the emergency crews immediately cleaning up the water damage to completing the restoration the On Side staff and vendors did an absolutely amazing job! The furnace replacement was done very professionally with no issues. The flooring company could not have been more accommodating and the floor looks amazing. The drywaller and painter were 10 out of 10 in ensuring the job was done to perfection. The cleaning crews did an amazing job in the rooms where water damage was restored where drywall dust existed and additionally did the adjoining rooms when the dust was carried to. Not to mention they came out three times to clean up as the dust built up. On Side put down floor protection to prevent the winter from being carried inside during restoration. On Side vendors were on time each day or immediately notified us of any delays (winter weather). This incident was very stressful to our family but to know we had the backing of both our insurance company and On Side made the process all the better. With no question, I would recommend On Side to friends and family! Our Kudos for a job well done and a huge Thank you to Justin, Anna and Vinita for their leadership!!

While this company did complete the job they were asked to do, and a few of their staff appeared to be concerned about doing their job well, we would never agree to use this company again. Our experience included receiving inaccurate and incomplete assessment recommendations; work teams showing up without knowing for sure what they were to do; work teams not having basic equipment like a step ladder with them when working in a room with 9’ ceilings; work team that consisted of a team lead with a few years experience working with a team of brand new or very limited experience team mates. (It often appeared that they were “figuring out how and what to do” based on group opinion rather than experience or training); plastic being put on the floor to “protect it” instead of the thick cardboard usually used resulting in 5 damaged spots on our floor from dropped tools; and a manager who never returned any calls either before the work began or after we discovered the damage to the floor. He also couldn’t be bothered to return calls to our insurance agent. Stay clear of this company.

We recently had our 3000 sq ft main floor hardwood refinished due to a water leak in kitchen. Due to the hardwood being continuous the whole mail floor hardwood needed to be refinished. We had to move out for 3 weeks while work was being completed. Intact insurance recommended Onside Restoration to do repairs and Brandon from Onside was assigned to be our project manager. Brandon did a fantastic job from beginning to end. He was able to answer all our questions, returned our calls in a timely manner and so much more. He had all the trades lined up for our floor refinish and sent me a detailed schedule of work to be performed. There were numerous trades involved with this project and Brandon made this process run extremely smooth and we were back in our house when promised according to schedule.Thanks Brandon for making a stressful situation stress free for us.

From initial assessment to QA, On Side delivered. Assessment was quick and thorough. Work started and was completed on schedule. The trades used on the job were respectful and did quality work. Above all, our project manager, Richard was exceptional. He clearly communicated the process and ensured the job was completed efficiently and to a high standard.

After an inspector flooded our condo, our insurance company sent Onside as an emergency service. Everyone that came into our home was friendly, professional and communicative. They were able to get things cleaned and dried up in a very timely manner and put our minds at ease.

We had work done on our Condo by Alain Bouche and his team. The level of professionalism and service is outstanding compared to other restorations company's we've had to use before. Myself and our Condo Board highly recommend Alain and his OnSide Team

Thank you to On Side, Remediation company, for restoring our home from the unfortunate flood disaster. On Side deserves an overall score of 4.5/5 for the following reasons:The employees from On Side, starting from Glenn for the abatement, George for drywalling, Minh for carpentry to the cleaning ladies Joanna and her assistant did an excellent job. We’re impressed with their courtesy and hard work; also equally important is their communication skills. They kept us informed throughout the renovation on a timely manner, updated as to where they were at, what was completed and what needed to be done. Thank you for your excellent work ethic.Their professionalism is a stark contrast to some of the contracted companies such as Paramount Floorings, which was noncommunicative much of the time. They never responded to our important questions such as what type of varnish, oil or water-base, they would use in the new flooring as this would affect the duration of our hotel bookings. By not answering the phone, or ignoring questions, it added dissatisfaction and anxiety to us. Fortunately other flooring companies which aren’t even connected with the remediation helped. They explained to us the differences, and the technical aspects of hardwood floor installment and care (special kudos to Leona of Touchwood Flooring, who provided answers which should have come from Paramount Flooring).We would also like to thank Jeremy. After initial misunderstandings, Jeremy turns out to be very helpful and patient. He listens to my concerns such as the matching of new baseboards with existing ones and drives around town to find sources. He dispatched a qualified carpenter Minh who came up with an ingenious idea with replacing a damaged piece in the living room with the existing baseboard from a hidden corner and putting the unmatched piece to where it’s not visible. So overall, many thanks to Jeremy for your commitment to do the best possible job, recruit the best personnel for the different stages, and meet our goals.We also want to thank Yuriy for overseeing the whole project. It has been months since the flood but given the scale and complexity of the project, we’re very appreciative and grateful for a job well done! We would not hesitate to recommend On Side again.

If I could give them zero stars I would. Our fridge leaked on our main floor through to the finished basement, and Onside didn't pull up all our flooring because they said they didn't need to. We pulled it up, only to find the entire kitchen subfloor full of mold. They said it was fine. Then they didn't pull up that sub floor for four months (there was still the plywood floor under it), then when they finally did, that subfloor and cabinets had mold. They said that was fine. They told us to lay our new flooring over the mold. They also said they wouldn't cut out the moldy drywall that was discovered after four months. This was all because it wasn't included in their original scope. I have two kids with asthma and allergies.They don't care about people's health, they care about dollar bills. Everything is about profit. There's so much more, but I don't have time to write a novel. Intact Insurance ended up firing Onside Restoration from our project, so that speaks for itself. If you have a choice, NEVER choose this company. Photos are what was discovered after four months because they didn't do things correctly. They told us it was fine.
