The very idea of standing vulnerably before a camera and have another photograph me was a frightening thought. Despite my size, I'd often found ways to hide when taking pictures but there was no hiding here. I decided instead to surrender fully into the masterful hands and heart of an artist who is dedicating her life to reveal the true beauty of all she captures with her lens. The moment of reveal brought tears to my eyes just as though I'd be hearing what a lover truly saw in me when I could not yet see it myself. Eva Ricci's work allowed me to change the filter through which I saw myself to a more loving one.Both the experience of the shoot and results were a part of this.
