This is the place to go if you have curly hair! My 11 year old daughter hated her beautiful curls and I hated always seeing her cry trying to manage them. Then I found Michelle at Eddie and Ev. She is absolutely amazing and took her time on educating us on how to care for her curls. The end result was an 11 year old who couldn’t wait to show off her curls. I cannot thank Michelle enough!!!

I didn’t get my haircut for two years because stylists kept messing it up and weren’t skilled and/or experienced in working with textured hair. I went to another curly salon but I was not happy with how the cut turned out. I always had to keep part of it tucked back to even be comfortable with being out in public with it. Then I found Eddie and Ev and I have not gone anywhere else in at least a year I think it’s been two now. Tara is my go to stylist. Michelle’s is extremely talented as well but Tara has learned what I like and it’s always a pleasure having my hair done by her. The time I got my hair coloured it was beautiful for the first few washes but it faded way quicker than when I had dyed it myself. That’s really the only complaint I have.

Had my first cut with Tara this past Saturday. Wow what a knowledgeable stylist and beautiful person. Living in Canada for 15 years now and this is the first person I have encountered who truly understands curly hair. Super helpful advice on how to manage my curls and best cut I’ve ever had. Went all the way from Yaletown and was so worth the trip. Thanks Tara!

DON'T GO HERE. Respect yourself and find a hair stylist that respects you and your business.I started attending this salon 2021. The knowledge and abilities for cut and color are by fair some of the best I have had to my curly hair. Its really difficult to find a good stylist for curly hair and I find that most salons that work with this kind of hair are not great with customer care. When I tried to onboard initially in 2019 there was a series of emails and calls, however I found that I was always left without a response or just unbooked like many people have said here, I had the same experience. When I finally started going there it was because a friend was going there and got a referral. At the time I thought I was lucky to get in and the results of my hair definitely were great. However as the years passed I finally had to move an appointment. I sent an email 2 days prior. On the day of the appointment I had not heard anything so I followed up to make sure they knew I was not coming. Then during what was suppose to be my appointment I got a call, however I was not available. When I was free I checked it and I was told that they just checked my two messages now and would be charging me a late cancellation fee. I was a bit confused as the wording made me think that they might have not read my first email which was 2 days notice. Also I was not aware of this time period to cancel. I emailed back on my initial two email chain to reschedule asking about the $50 and stating I was a bit confused how to move forward and how to get an appointment booked as I was keen to get my hair done. That was over a week ago and no one has gotten back to me. I understand being upset if you don't check your messages and find out you didn't have to be at work that day but the lack of communication and not rebooking me is shocking as a paying customer. A customer who pays hundreds of dollars a visit, I am not important enough to explain the next steps? I also get that lots of people cancel and are flaky and that must be horrible for stylist however its your occupational hazard not my job to pay for others bad behavior.I know its hard to get a good stylist for curly hair, but we have to stop accepting poor treatment because we have no where else to go.

We traveled from the interior to have Michelle work her magic on my teenage daughter's hair. Michelle spent a ton of time teaching my daughter about caring for her curls. It was a wonderful experience and the interaction with staff and other clients felt like we were part of a family. An amazing, empowering environment. Thank you so much Michelle for all you do and for helping my daughter embrace her beautiful curls!

WOW! First of all just wanted to say this is the absolute best curly hair salon I have ever been too! Michelle and her staff are very warm welcoming group! Not only did she cut and style my hair specific to my shape she also educated me on the products needed to maintain this curly head. I am so glad I waited patiently for my appointment because it was worth every minute. If you are a curly hair girl that wants to add volume and life back to your head, please take a moment and allow Michelle to do her magic. I had a grown out straight perm and wanted all the straight pieces cut. Ive had the cut for 2 weeks now and through Michelles tips and tricks I am able to create the same look as when I left the salon.

I've been looking for a place that specializes in curly hair for a few years now, and I'm thrilled I've found this place! I have a very thick and messy hair, and Tara was able to make it look so much better than I thought possible. Everyone at the Salon- Maria, Michelle, and Tara is very professional, nice, and welcoming, and the atmosphere there is great. Their covid protocols are great, and it feels very clean and safe. You might have to wait a while for your first appointment, but it's totally worth the wait!

Four months ago, I lost 1/2 my hair due to hypothyroidism and needed someone with expertise to cut it as it grows back. I was referred to Michelle because she has certification in 3 different types of curly cuts, and I am SO glad I went. I still have another year and a half until my hair is restored, but Michelle did wonders with what she had to work with. I will continue to see Michelle -- knowing she will know just what to do at every step of my hair regrowth.
