We live a block away and just LOVE this spot. Delicious sushi, great friendly service. We've been ordering from Volcano Sushi since 2 + years now and their consistency is on point. Check it out for a solid casual lunch or dinner spot! They also do delivery.

We ordered delivery. Volcano is usually good, but tonight there was an issue with the ika sugata yaki (usually delicious, today it was very much not).Called to explain the issue and they offered to first replace the food next time, which I rejected, and then they accepted giving us a discount on our next order.*Really* appreciate this service. Obviously mistakes and issues happen - this is life - but their willingness to make it right impressed me. Too few business’s do this. Will definitely be back.

Simple and decent.It's not fancy sushi that you will find at places like Miku but it's great when compared to many of the sushi places in the surrounding areas.I came here with a few friends tonight and was going to order a couple of their dinner combos; however, we spotted the Vancouver King Boat and it was a bit of a better deal (and included all of the sushi we were going to order from the combos anyway). So, between the 6 of us, we ordered 3 king boats lolThe nigiri sushi and sashimi were my favourite parts of the meal as the fish was fatty and fresh but a couple of the pieces were a bit stringy. The cali, maki sushi, and dynamite rolls were OK - nothing special. The deep fried volcano roll was probably my least favourite as it wasn't that good as it was a bit dry and too crunchy on the outside but there was a good amount of sauce and mayo on top to give it the moisture it desperately needed.Overall, I would probably return in the future as the service was good, food tasted decent, and it was good for the price I paid.

Been here couple of times, and this restaurant is awesome! This many for just $11, with the great taste, would’ve cost me for at least $20 in other places. Their lunch special is also a very good deal! Can’t image how they survive with this affordable price in the industry

Don't let the exterior detour you from this place. The prices are quite fair, and the sushi tastes great. Definitely try the volcano roll while you're there.

An okayish joint that feels a bit worn. My party was in the area and looking for some sushi and decided to try this place. Upon arrival we were seated pretty quickly - after that, the service went downhill so fast it essentially fell off a cliff. It was fairly empty when we arrived, maybe three other tables. After asking for tea, we waited until after the first of our food had arrived, and then I had to ask for it again. It was some of the most bland and diluted tea I've ever been served, it might as well have just been hot water. It's complimentary so it's not a huge deal, just something I noticed.I ordered the dinner special with sockeye salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, and volcano roll. My friend ordered the spicy roll combo and an order of salmon sashimi. The dinner special comes with miso soup and salad. The miso soup arrived within the expected time frame, everything else came out much later. My salad didn't come at all until after all of our food had arrived, and again, I had to ask for it. Our server was not any kind of apologetic, rather acted as if I was inconveniencing him, and told me it was on its way. This is not a fancy salad. It is literally bagged mixed greens with a bit of dressing piled on top, the kind that usually comes with your appies or miso. It's not mixed, and requires exactly 3 seconds of prep time. I'm not sure how it could have been on its way" after we got all of our food

Very simple place without much fuss. Very Vegetarian friendly with many options. Also, excellent value for money. We had one lunch special and one special roll and both us were very full. All the photos that you see cost us 20 bucks, including tip. For commercial drive area- inexpensive for sure! I personally liked all the food. Very good bang for the buck. I will go again and recommend it to others

Ordered sushi in the restaurant for take out and it took 30 minutes to have it ready!The tuna in the tuna maki wasn't really good. Salmon was the same, nothing exceptional.The BC roll had too much salmon skin and I couldn't eat them all.

Volcano Sushi & Grill
As a tourist in Vancouver, i just found this restaurant by googling the top rated sushi and we are more than happy with our choice. It's not a fancy restaurant but their food is amazingly delicious and well prepared considering highest quality. We loved it to the most and recommend everyone to go and enjoy their sushi. Great and friendly staff with a real Japanese atmosphere.
