SWIFT Bike Shop -Same Day Bike Repairs

I bought a bike from Dave at Swift. Great guy, he asked questions about what kind of riding I would do, gave me lots of options. I rode it hard all last summer, and had to take it back for something I did to the bike an oops. Dave fixed it quick and suggested several great ideas. Great price on bike great service

I had come to Dave to help me replace my friend's stolen bike wheels.I did my research into other bike shops, and I noticed that they had marked up all the replacement parts I needed significantly above retail value.Dave managed to give me a far more reasonable quote, and got the job done within 24 hours as he makes the wheels in house and had all the parts required. Other shops took a far longer as they needed to order the parts required for the replacement.Furthermore, he had given me several alternatives in parts that I could choose from with different pricing, and had pointed out other flaws in my bike.I was skeptical at first, but I then realized that he is very knowledgable and honest in what he does, and we had a wonderful chat afterwards.Overall, I would be coming back to this place in the future for any of my bike related needs.

I went to swift bike shop to get my old road bike tuned up and some new brake levers installed. Dave was very helpful identifying what needed to be done, and he gave me a price far lower than I would have expected. He's also a really nice guy! Definitely coming here again for any bike needs in the future.

I bought the bike on July 3rd, 2020 and I already put on 600 KM. I have had no problems and the bike is working very well. I would highly recommend Swift bicycles and if needed I would buy another one. Very friendly and helpful people and I got to test drive a bike before I bought it.One year later and over 3000km the bike still rides like new. The only thing I did in the first year was to tighten the Threadless Headset. I also chose to install new style pedals for my own comfort. Still happy with my purchase.

I have edited my review in an attempt to explain my point of view based on Dave's allegations below: I have never posted an online review and I have posted this review after careful consideration because I have no intention to damage a local business' reputation.I posted this review based on 3 reasons:I had referred Swift bikes to 4 friends since I bought mine and they have voiced concerns regarding the safety of their bikes. Some of these bikes have already had mechanical issues that should not occur during normal use.When I took the bike and broken parts to a nearby bike shop I was told that they hear many complaints regarding Swift bikes and the business owner, this sentiment was echoed by other bicycle shops I spoke to.Dave at Swift did a complete 180 when my bike broke, he took the broken parts, refused to give them back and the manner in which he yelled at me scared me which was the reason my friend returned on my behalf.I had purchased my bike the first week of April. During the first week of June my son borrowed my bike, when he shifted in mid gear the gears jammed and the rear derailleur shot up and into the gears. My son tried to pull the derailleur out of the wheel but the arm broke off (the arm was part of the frame).I asked different bike shops and bike enthusiast what may have caused this and the comment each time was that a pebble or twig could have got stuck in the gears or the rear derailleur was of poor quality or not installed properly.When I asked Dave if it could be fixed, he became very angry and belligerent and immediately accused my son. I asked for the cost and time line, a short time later Dave had removed the broken parts and refused to return them.Dave did indeed help fix my son's bike, a 3 year old CCM bike, which was appreciated at the time. My son's bike had issues with the pedals and had a flat tire, not uncommon repairs for a 3 year old factory produced bike. I offered to pay for the repairs but Dave refused payment, not based on my financial situation which he continues to fixate on and was never discussed, but due to the fact that he had sold 4 bikes to my friends and he claimed that this made me a VIP customer. He also fixed 2 flat tires for me which occurred when I was using my bike.I have no wish to continue to engage in a He Said She Said situation, I would advise any person considering the purchase of a Swift bike to visit local bike shops and ask for their opinions. I have since bought a quality bike at a local bike shop and have found a noticeable difference in performance. For me, it was worth it to pay more!

Dave & Will at Swift were very helpful. I was experiencing poor gear changes with my road bike, and even sometimes the chain would fall off completely. While other bike stores would take weeks to repair and return my bike, Swift (very aptly named) only took about 45 minutes to repair my bike. They gave it a good tune-up and now it rides even better than when I got the bike, with the gear changing very smooth now! Furthermore, their pricing is very reasonable. I highly recommend this family bike shop!EDIT (added photos): I also got my bike tires switched out, as they were reaching the end of their life. Swift Bike Shop provided me with the same quick service, and provided a good price again.

Fast, friendly and competent. I have an older bike kind of cobbled together and it needed rear tube and some other tlc. I delivered the bike and was warmly greeted and told it would be one hour, and shocked at the timeline and unbelieving, I left the bike. When I returned about one hour and twenty minutes later the bike had a new tube, all adjusters checked and set and the bike shifted perfectly. The fee was equally amazing. A very honest and sincere gentleman. I would never consider using any other bicycle related shop. Six stars if possible.

Dave took a look at my bike very short notice and was able to help me out with the problems I was having with my gears on the same day. The appointment was quick and my bike is working like it should again. I was happy because the bike shops in town that I called didn't have any availability until next month and I really depend on my bike to do everything. Thank you so much!

Swift Bike Shop is an independent business in Waterloo located near King and Weber. I had an amazing experience here especially with Dave who fixed my bike. If you're not sure where to go I highly recommend Swift and Dave. I brought my bike in which had many issues with it. Dave looked at the bike and asked me to leave it with him. He had a few theories. I came back later that day and he had fixed everything. Very nice and straight forward. I took my bike home rode it for a bit before I notice a problem. I bought it back and Dave fixed the issue at no charge. This was very nice of Dave especially since it was an extra $85. He wanted to make sure I was a happy customer. I am over the moon happy with Swift and Dave.

Dave was amazing. Fixed my bike very fast. He had to rebuild the front break system but he did it quickly and affordably. I will definitely go back to him for any other bike repairs I need!
