Have been dealing with these lovely people for a few years now, since my son started playing fiddle, We started by renting one and went through a few sizes of rentals. Now that he is in a larger size we purchased our last one. They have always been amazing to deal with, super helpful, high quality stuff, great deals, and friendly. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone!

It's rare to find an honest business these days with people who care about what they are doing, and this place is one of the good ones! I purchased a violin here, and it was an easy decision after talking about the build, materials, strengths, and weaknesses of what I was buying. Everything was exactly what I was hoping for and expecting, for the quality of violin that I was shopping for. After getting home and playing the violin more, I truly realized how much more I got in the package! It's a shame I can't play better so that I can TRULY appreciate the level of upgrade I got over my first violin. These folks do a setup on their goods and properly fit good quality strings, adjust the bridge, etc. and it really plays into elevating the instrument above any equivalent you'll get at the big box guitar shops. 100% would send my beloved grandmother to their business, and look forward to doing more business with them in the future.

I was an international student in Halifax 2 years ago, and when I wanted to practice violin, a friend recommended me here. The owner is very professional, he and her daughter are passionate about the shop and are super nice to every client. The violin that they leased to me has a beautiful sound. Brilliant shop!

I had the bridge and sound post set at the Bowed Instrument Shop about a month ago. They were friendly, accommodating of my work schedule and pickup time, and priced extremely fairly. They've created a life long customer, and I would highly recommend them and their work.

This place is great. I was in town for a conference and wanted to get my daughter something fun yet practical. They custom died the horse hair in a bow into rainbow stripes for me and did it super quick so I could pick it up before leaving. They also gave me great local tips on places to go while in town. Really friendly service and a cool location.

Highly recommend this shop. Very professional, reliable and reasonable price. We rent the first voilin 1/8 size for my son. Now we stay with them three years and buy his own voilin on a great deal! Always satisfied with the voilin and service!
