Saunders Country Critters Zoo Sanctuary & Garden Center

I had a great time at Saunders Country Critters Zoo. I didn't expect it to be as big as it was! They have all kinds of animals that are very friendly and happy. Its a nice location and set up. They even have some animals the Toronto Zoo doesn't. Overall I had a great time and will for sure be coming back to visit again in the near future!

This place is such a gem. We live 15 mins from Saunders and discovered it late in the season last year. This year we jumped on the season pass early ! (40$ for a season pass which is super reasonable free for littles under 2) my littles one and three- absolutely loved it !The staff are super kind, so informative and very obviously care deeply for the animals. So many animals rescued from harsh conditions, illnesses, or abandonment.There are so many animals, ducks, goats, lemurs, kangaroos, lynx to name a few. Ones you can see from a distance and ones you can feed and be more interactive with- there are play structures, a sandbox with some trucks which were a huge hit, a shaded area with picnic tables. There is a garden Center that has an incredible selection and again really great price points.I would highly recommend taking a trip here to see for yourself it is really wonderful and so ethically ran.

Wow I’ve lived in Ottawa for over 30 years and I don’t know why this is the first time I’ve heard of this place. It was a very enjoyable afternoon with my kids. Beautiful animals, lots of places to sit, outhouses everywhere, great play structures and toys for kids to play with. We will definitely make this a recurring visit! ❤️❤️ Thank you Carla!!

This is such a wonderful place! The owners are amazing people doing amazing things for these animals. The staff are fantastic too. We have been visiting for years and each time we have a great experience.

Absolutely love this place ! The animals seem so happy! So much fresh fruit for the exotic animals to eat ! The animals seemed to love interacting with humans as well! Would bring kids , my friends and family , Zero complaints! Going back 10000%

Well, they just opened this weekend and the critters are gradually moving back into their outdoor enclosures over the next few weeks as the temperatures warm up. I spent a wonderful Mother's Day afternoon getting reacquainted and meeting some new friends. It is heart warming to know that these animals have been given a second chance and are well taken care of thanks to Carla and Gary, and their wonderful staff and volunteers.

It's a wonderful sanctuary for wildlife. You will see many animals up close that you wouldn't ever get a chance to encounter. The staff are warm, welcoming, and informative. The surroundings are very family friendly and you'll want to go again and again. It's a place to be curious and enjoy as you'll often see something you may not have noticed before. I'm getting very excited as it will open again to the public in early May.

This place is a hidden gem just outside of Ottawa! You can truly tell they care for these animals. The cost to walk through the zoo is very inexpensive & they have quite the variety of different species! I was amazed that the path just kept on going! Such a beautiful and calm environment filled with so many beautiful animals - we will definitely be back many times this season!

This place is a joy for both young and old. A wide array of animals from goats to lemurs and kangaroos. You can pet the domestic animals and marvel at the more exotic creatures. A great place to take the children. Enjoyable and educational for all. Highly recommended.
