I do not recommend Skaha Electric. I feel that I paid more than I should have for work that was done to minimum standards. The hours I was billed were not totally reflective of the time spent on the project and the materials costs were astronomical. When I asked for a breakdown of the bill for this work, it was not provided. I left multiple messages requesting to speak with the owner about the bill, and my calls were never returned. If there was any valid justification for the cost of this work, I will never know because the company was unresponsive to my requests for details and a breakdown. Here are more specific details relating to this work. Hired Skaha Electric to do some electrical work. Asked for a quote. One of the owners said he could not provide one, but that the work should likely not take more than 5 hours.• The electrician showed up with a 4-slot subpanel. He said the owner had provided the box to him. I had been very clear upfront to owner when he came to check out the potential job that I needed a subpanel with 10-12 circuits. Electrician left for a few hours to find a suitable subpanel.• After work was complete, I received an invoice for just under $1770, $646 of which was materials (panel, breakers, CFI, cable, etc.).• The electrician was not at the house for the number of hours billed, so I am curious if we were charged for time spent getting right-sized subpanel.• Materials cost seemed quite high, so we priced out the materials needed for the job at the hardware store (they came to $375 retail price).• The wire connecting the subpanel to the main panel was done to bare minimum code. We were not asked if we wanted to upsize the wire as we certainly would have chosen large gauge wire to be safer and to accommodate the future function of the subpanel.• I called Skaha Electric and left messages multiple times to try to discuss the invoice with the owner. No one returned my calls. I emailed requesting a breakdown of materials and finally received a reply from the owner, Michael, that they do not provide breakdowns of materials costs to all customers. When I stated that I could not pay this bill until I received a breakdown and details about the cost, I did not receive a response. I called and left another message, but did not receive a response.

Things did not start off well, with the person who was supposed to come to do some work at my place calling in sick 15 minutes before I was expecting him. Mike was incredibly apologetic and responsive, and arranged for someone to come the next day. He was a pleasure to deal with through all the booking issues. Clark was great and very friendly, and seemed to do a very good job with the things we needed help with. I was really happy.The real problems I have are with the back end of dealing with Skaha Electric. I asked for the bill twice before it came, and then it just had one large line item for all the materials. I sent four emails over the course of a month, trying to get the information. It took me over a month to get a breakdown of the materials used, and when I finally got it, it had no pricing. They have refused to tell me what they charged me for any of the materials at all. I emailed and called again, to no avail. I got a snippy text about how I hadn't paid my bill (because I was still trying to get information about the charges), and finally got a call back. The person I spoke with was rude, argumentative, and talked over me. I said I had felt my requests for information were being ignored, and she confirmed that it was because they were ignoring me. When I told her my accountant needed the breakdown of materials, as we are anticipating an audit, she told me that my accountant requiring the breakdown was moot" because I wasn't being audited yet.What started off as a clear 5 star rating has left me feeling disappointed and demeaned as a customer. Clark was pleasant and did a good job. Mike was very nice to deal with. If you expect transparent pricing or someone to treat you with respect when you call about a bill

Skaha Electric went above and beyond all our expectations. We had a complete remodel of our cabin completed and they did a fantastic job. A few years later we had a major flood in our town, Skaha was there again saving the day. We would highly recommend this company to anyone. They have been around for 20 years !

The folks at Skaha Electric are an amazing team. They know their field and have provided us with knowledgeable advice and expertise. We have had them install new lighting as well as running new wiring. We trust them implicitly with the safety of our electrical systems; their honesty and integrity are so appreciated. Taylor came to our rescue after we lost power to part of our house and garage. He was friendly and punctual and we will definitely call Skaha again for our electrical needs. Very happy with Taylor's service

I would highly recommend Skaha Electric.They deliver fantastic, friendly service and are backed by an experienced team.Clark was very helpful in explaining the wiring of the Smart Thermostats. They MFR instructions were very poor.He even marked up (corrected) their wiring diagram and marked the wires for me to finish the additional installations on my own.Great service and responsiveness...hard to find these days.

A nice young man, Frank, came to my house and wired up my OTA UHF cable system, solving many issues. Highly recommended.
