East Point Lighthouse - Prince Edward Island | The East Point Lighthouse has the distinction of being "Canada’s Confederation Lighthouse" having been the only Lighthouse in Canada that was built in 1867 and still operates today. East Point Lighthouse
A lighthouse that you can actually go inside and climb up to the top! The fee is reasonable ($6.90 for an adult) to help maintain the history of the site. Steps are a bit narrow, and the last climb to the light is more like a ladder, but the view can't be beat!

Awesome view. Worth the drive up. Fun to climp up. The museum on the way up is very nice and informative. Loved it.

We loved this site! Interesting historically and geographically, a beautiful view and a neat shop. The shop had more than the typical tourist wares, with some neat unique items. The staff were very friendly and helpful.Highly recommend this location.

Such a beautiful place. As the easternmost point in PEI, you should expect to be surrounded by water. The gift shop people is really attentive, there's a good selection of mementos, but the real star of the place is the lighthouse.Paying the fee to climb it is worth every cent. There's years and years of history, with pictures, images, real pieces of equipment, and the view. Ah, the view... Just go see for yourself.

Beautiful lighthouse with an amazing view. I imagine it can get very crowded during the weekend or the summer, but it was quiet on a Wednesday in June, we had plenty of room to take pictures and enjoy the scenery.The lighthouse is very well kept. The restrooms were roomy and very clean.

East Point Lighthouse
In my opinion, this is the best lighthouse amongst the West, North, and East lighthouses. The weather was also nice when I visited, which was about 15-20 degree Celcius. Too bad the lighthouse was not open for visitors to enter yet as I visited in late May. If you want to enter the lighthouse, it is good to check in advance when the lighthouse is going to be open for the season.

The farthest East you can go on Prince Edward Island. It's a great ride and the view out intlto the water is really good. Nice little gift shop with lots of selections, too. Very clean washrooms and lots of parking. Definitely come here on a PEI roadtrip.

A great view of the ocean if you're in the area. Can get pretty crowded with tourists so make sure you have time set aside and are not in a rush. There's plenty of parking as well as accessible washrooms if you require them.

We arrived just after the closing time but Nadine, the owner of the gift shop, generously reopened the shop for us having heard we travelled from afar. She was warm and kind; and also shared lots of useful info about the Charlottetown to make our visit fruitful and memorable.
