Congratulations to Derek and staff on receiving the 2021 Readers Choice award for top notary in Kamloops and region. Well deserved! Congrats again. Well deserved winners of the 2022 award this year. My experiences at this office have always been great. They take their time to explain things, are very knowledgeable and helpful even going so far as to hook me up with another office when I needed something done that fell outside of their practice abilities.

I would give zero stars if I could. My mom just recently died and had to have some legal documents done, I phoned in once and the receptionist asked if I could email Derek and make an appointment! I was taken a back and asked if she was the receptionist. She said yes, I said isn't that your job? She said Derek would contact me, never heard back from them at all. I called a second time got the same reply. I hung up. I will call another lawyer to get paperwork done. Lazy receptionist.

Walked me through my first time buying a home with excellent advice and information. Always prompt with communication and Derek was very good at explaining all the paperwork and offering guidance.

Lazy and careless. Didn’t care to help me understand certain conditions as a first time home buyer and several years later refuses to help solve the problems his careless behaviour started. He’s the lowest rated office in Kamloops for a good reason.

Very quick and efficient with closing on a home purchase! I appreciated the quick responses to my emails. Would recommend :)

Made an appointment with very specific details as to what I needed witnessed and notarized, as per the instructions of the three lawyers involved in this matter. I show up and I am told that he can’t actually do it, that my lawyer doesn’t know what he’s talking about and then the guy straight up try’s to to steal the binder clip from my documents. Left looking for a last minute appointment days before the holidays. Pathetic.

Had a great experience with Derek and the staff in the process of buying my first house. Everything was explained very clearly and they made it very quick and easy! Would absolutely use them again.

I just purchased a condo (my first time actually going through the entire process of buying a home!) and they were fantastic to work with :) They made it very easy and Leslie Madore, the notary was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Derek is very friendly and personable and was very excited about my purchase as well. I was referred to this office and they did not dissapoint! I would wholeheartedly recommend this Notary Office.

I contacted Derek Smoluk a couple of years ago to do up a will for my father who was in hospice. Not only did he refuse to go in to the hospice to get it done he was also very rude and condescending towards me about everything. Said no one would go in there to do it. Well guess what Derek. Next person I called came in. She was very helpful and respectful. Unlike Mr Smoluk. The next time someone is speaking don’t act like what YOU have to say is more important and dismiss them. Especially when it’s people who you rely on to pay your bills. Definitely will never refer anyone to you. Wish I never had an issue putting in this review when it first happened. Terrible person you are.
