Brason Academy Montessori School

Both of our kids attended from toddler until ready for JK. All of the teachers are wonderful and you can tell they enjoy coming in everyday. We had participated with a day care before and their staff turnover rate was incredibly high. It was so nice switching to Brason. The kids could get to know their teachers and this was a big plus as it's difficult for our kids to adjust to change. Having the consistent routine and staff made every day easier for our kids. We loved the daily pictures and updates we had access to in order to stay close with what was happening with our children everyday. It is clear that all of the staff take their roles very seriously and we felt very confident with allowing our children's formative years to be shaped within the Brason community. The bottom line and most important detail that was clear to us was that all staff cared about what they did. You could see the care exhibited for our children and it's what we appreciated most of all. Good luck to all future years for Brason. Thank you for our time.

My kiddos were at Brason for 3 years and loved going to school every single day! The teachers are attentive, caring, engaging and encourage the children to strive for their best. My kiddos are excelling at their current school both academically and emotionally thanks to the amazing Montessori foundation they got from Brason ! If we could have stayed past SK we would have :)

I don't often review, but I had to for this one. I would also like to start by saying that there are two other families who have shared with me their terrible experiences here as well but I will let them tell their stories should they choose to.My son attended the toddler program from Feb-July 2022. We tried to make the best of it regardless of the amount of times my husband and I were taken aback with this place. To start, the main toddler teacher seemed miserable most of the time. Her saving grace were the assistants in the room. Our breaking point was when our son was fed popcorn (we found out by a photo of him in class) when we had explicitly asked them not to give him popcorn, and we were assured by the owner that she would communicate this with his teachers and the rest of the staff. This was never done. Instead, the owner desperately tried to avoid taking responsibility for not communicating this, even though I have it all in writing. Thank God it was not a life threatening allergy.Upon pickup, our son would immediately start requesting water and would drink SO much water as soon as he got in the car. We had requested on several occasions that he have access to his water bottle throughout the day, but upon pickup and often when it was snack time, there were no water bottles in sight anywhere. The menu provided to the parents was never what we saw the children eating upon pickup either. It really made me question if cheaper, less healthy options were being substituted on an ongoing basis. My son often smelled of icing, had icing on his clothes and was regularly eating cookies upon pickup when fruits and vegetables were on the menu.We gave required notice in June that we were relocating 300+ km's from Cambridge in August. We didn't send our son almost the entire month of July (although paid) since we did not feel comfortable having him there any longer after them not adhering to our request to not feed him popcorn, among our many other concerns.They insisted that we had to pay an arbitrary $500 withdrawal fee for not attending the school for a full year.I had asked under what circumstances someone would not have to pay the withdrawal fee, and the reply I was given was It will be decided on a case by case basis". I guess moving 300+ kms away isn't case enough? I wonder what is? They've managed to secure our $500 withdrawal by not returning allocated government funds to us without advising us. I had to reach out several times to find out why our government reimbursement was incorrect.If they need the money so badly after we had just paid an arbitrary enrolment fee

Our children have been at Brason since they were toddlers in the toddler program and our daughter just graduated from Casa 2 (SK). Both of our children have excelled socially, emotionally and academically due to the care, expertise and guidance of their educators and support staff. It is such a special place and we feel very fortunate to have found a school that feels like a family.

Today is the last day for my kids at Brason. It is an important and memorable journey for my kids. The teachers are always so caring for them and teach them life time lesson since they are a toddler. Because of the education and respect I got from the teachers I have chosen to continue more Montessori education for my kids instead of going to public school after graduation. I want to specially thanks Manju for her kindness to accommodation my kids for finical arrangement and Mrs. Holden as she really work with her heart and passion to bring the best out of the children. Her consistence and fair disciplinary action is very inspiring for any parents.

My daughter has attended this school since she was 16 months old (now 3.5y) and we are extremely happy with the care she received there. Staff in both Toddler & Casa programs are wonderful, caring, patient, knowledgeable and always willing to talk about my child's progress. Teachers are very consistent and show great respect towards children, how they talk to them and interact with them. They give them a solid start in life and ignite to their love for learning. Director of the school, Mrs. Porwal, improved the school significantly in the past two years, and cares deeply for her staff and children's progress there. She is very approachable and willing to work with parents. I would highly recommend this school.

My son went to Brason and I was very pleased with his experiences there. The school was great about keeping us updated on his day to day development in class. We were able to see the activities the students carried out throughout the week from pictures on social media. He made a lot of friends and learned great socialization skills. All the teachers and staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable in early child development. We were definitely happy with the decision of enrolling him in Brason and would recommend this Montessori to anybody looking for their kids to get a jump start in their education.

Dear Teachers and Director of the school - We can’t thank you enough for what you have given to our children in the past few years – Safety and comfort, music, laughter, friendship and a powerful launch in the pursuit of learning. Our daughter attended Brason Academy for 2+years and had a wonderful time, learning French and music in addition to developing academic readiness. She increased her poise and self-confidence. We enrolled our second daughter too here in the toddler program. Most of the teachers were still there till my children attended the school– that speaks volumes to the positive environment at Brason, for both students and staff.To Ms. Maya – for your gentle spirit that is incredibly comforting for new moms and dads handing over their babies for the day.To Ms. Camila, Ms. Komal, Ms. Tracy – for your creativity and unflappable patience with exuberant toddlers.To Ms. Tan,Ms. Lyndsay, Ms.Winnie– for your magical ability to focus young minds and prepare them to absorb so much knowledge and sense of the world.To Ms. Julia - Thank you for making us believe in music even more strongly - my children will definitely miss your musical voice and charming personality forever. Our twins joined Brason at 18 months old and were there until they recently started JK. Manju runs this centre very well and it is very organized to ensure the best experience for the children.The teachers there genuinely care and love the children, and our twins adored them all.After seeing our twins advance, grow and develop over the years at Brason, we would not consider sending any future kids anywhere else but here.Highly recommend!!

Brason Academy has been a great place for our 2 kids from 18 months of age until they went to JK at 4 yrs of age. Mrs. Holden and all the staff were excellent in using their Montessori teaching skills and in identifying unique make up of each child. Smaller staff-child ratio enables kids to have more attention and Concept based activities geared to the level of individual child enables individual growth in a non competitive, safe environment. From potty training to Music and French classes, parent - teacher interviews to Healthy food choices, everything is designed and monitored well to develop a child. Our kids enjoyed their preschool years and have developed great interest in learning. Years spent at Brason has certainly instilled a strong academic interest, love for nature/ outdoors and social skills to thrive in a multicultural environment. Thanks to Brason for shaping up the formative years of my Boys. Brason is Highly Recommended!
