Hamilton Public Library - Sherwood Branch

Love to bring the kids here on the weekend. Big play area with lots of toys and a great selection of books to choose from. The automated checkout is fast and easy to use, and the staff are always helpful and pleasant.

Thankful to have a library in Sherwood. I only stayed on the lower level but i wouldn’t say it has the greatest options for private studying. As others mentioned it is noisy for a library, all sorts of classes were coming through and the staffs conversations amongst themselves or with visitors are all very audible. That will affect some more than others.

Been a little while since I've last visited but a nice big library with great selection for whatever subject piques your interest!

Such a wonderful place to visit! The Staff are very friendly and incredibly helpful. There's always someone on duty willing to help, and often willing to go above and beyond to help you get the media or information you're looking for. They've set a high standard of customer service in my opinion, and I'm very grateful for all the assistance that I've received. Not an overwhelmingly large library, it has a lovely collection and you can order more things from affiliate locations and pick them up and return them to this (or any HPL location). Things auto-renew now (with a few understandable exceptions) and they're very forgiving these days - no late fees! If you haven't been to this or your local HPL location, i highly encourage you to check it out!

Not a huge library, but enough selection if you want a good book (or dvd) to bring home.Still, you can order from any library and pick up/return at whatever branch is convenient, so you can access 1000's of books without having to go far!I think Hamilton has a superb library system, there's a great range of content and even new or popular items they have enough copies that you rarely wait long for a hold.All HPL's I've visited are clean and very organized, and this is no exception. Very bright & spacious, its only 2 floors but there's an elevator for wheelchairs strollers etc.Staff are super nice & will help you find a section, recommend a great book or help with copier or computers.I wish they had a few more comfy chairs, a table/desk is ok for work/study, but doesn't make me want to relax & get lost in a book! I'm sure space and cleaning protocols are part of it too though.A nice way to spend a few hours...free Wi-Fi, you can plug in for power, use a computer and they always have different activities for people of any age.Don't bring a drink or food they don't allow (due to spills etc) and if you forget as I did once & don't want to toss your almost-full Slushee they'll tell you to get rid of it---of course I asked if I could drink it all instead and was told I could, but the horrible brain freeze made that choice quite regrettable. So ya...no drinks!

Lots of space for many different uses. Recently I have visited with my 1 year old. There are lots of fun toys and a sep rate space upstairs for the kids so you don't need to worry too much about being quiet.

The staff are always so helpful at this location.

Is my favorite Library. The upstairs has lots of space for kids to play and learn and lots of toys and interactive Centres. There are also many events and programs to take part in and the storytime is very good. The Librarians are very friendly and helpful as well. They really put in an effort and seem to love their jobs.

Great library, especially for kids, they do have kids programs during the week to teach children different things.I think it's great to see the children involved!Upper level is very kid friendly and staff has always been great!
