- Long processing time 45-60 days, so better to apply 2 months before your planned visit and you should be OK not to have your passport while waiting!!.- You will not have any update of status of your application during the processing time window.-The only way to contact them is through their email.

Absolutely terrible..It is supposed to take 15 working days and if it takes longer, according to the website you can call them and ask about your visa process. I emailed without getting a reply and after 17 working days i called but the guy answering the telephone wouldn't give me anything at all. Send an email" was all he said repeatedly

Just remember to apply your visa as earlier as possible, specially in Summer. The processing time was much longer than we thought. Emails and phone calls didn't work. You can't get any updating information on line either. At last we tried going to their office in person several days before departure. The staff was helpful thought. Fortunately we received our visas 1 day before departure.

We got a very fair experience from the consulate. The emails were promptly replied in minutes. All Questions was replied without any hesitation. Also they just send back our passport next day after visa is processed from USA. Very efficient service it was.

How can I contact the embassy? The phone never goes through.

My rating is only reflect my experience with the Royal Danish Embassy. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I walked in without any appointment because I was so frustrated with VFS (like others mentioned), I can not get any status from them, not even when my application was passed over to the embassy. The VFS online status checking is useless. Phone or email won't give you any useful information neither. I told one of the embassy staff my situation, she took my reference number (the reference number on your online payment receipt) and found out my application is in progress. She asked me to wait a bit, and 10 mins later I got my passport back with the desired visa sticker. On other hand, as today if I query my visa application on VFS's website, still getting NO RECORD FOUND"

Contrary to all the reviews, I had a rather seamless experience in obtaining a tourist visa for Iceland. It took a little over two weeks to get the passport back. I guess, if all the necessary supporting documents are submitted, visa is not an issue. However, a couple of suggestions for the concerned authorities to look into :1. VFS needs to introduce a proper tracking mechanism so that the applicant knows the latest and correct status of the visa process from the embassy.2. The time required for visa issuance needs to be reduced to a maximum of 7 calendar days especially if the embassy needs to hold on to the passport. Otherwise, they shoukd process the visa based on coloured photocopies of the full passport and call for the passport once the decision is made. That way the applicant is free to travel wherever he needs to especially for cases like me where I need to travel to the U.S. several times a week. It's a problem to be without a passport for 2 to 3 weeks.Aziz MeerWindsor, ON

I didn't intend to leave such a low rate for this, unfortunately, I have to. I was applying my Schengen visa last summer here, however it took them for more than two months to just START REVIEW my application(because the consular officer sent me an email after 2 months of my initial apply, to check if I still intend to apply for the visa, and ask me to provide the update hotel booking since the last one is expired ).I do understand due to high volume of application, it will take longer than normal, the same announcement as they posted on their website said it will take about 1 and 1/2 month for the visa application. Because of this, it literally screwed my entire plan, I have to cancel everything I booked instead, including the trip as well.The reason I still leave 2 stars because the frequency of their email answer rate is pretty fast, since I emailed them about couple question regarding to the visa beforehead, it took them to reply it within the next 24 hours.I'm hoping it will take less in the future, since Denmark is a beautiful country that I want to visit, as well as other Scandinavian countries.

I'm not someone who spends time online to post bad reviews, but I thought it's my responsibility to share my own experience with the Danish embassy for the sake of others. I've traveled to so many countries in the past, but this embassy has given me the worst experience so far. We were looking for a Schengen visa to travel to Iceland, and after the visa application, they took much longer that what their website had originally stated. In our case, we had booked all flight tickets and accomodation, and had to go through such an anxious time for our visas to arrive. What's more, even after several emails to them, there was not a single response to any of our emails or the voicemails we had left.Finally, after several days of waiting, I contacted the Iceland embassy in Ottawa and complained to them about this, and two very helpful women at the Iceland embassy contacted these guys directly and got them to (start!) processing our visas. Finally, we received our visas TWO DAYS prior to our departure to Iceland!I'd never recommend.P.S: Oh BTW, if you see any 5 star review here, know that it's fake.
