Strut & The Other Side

I have been going to Jonna for a few years now, that being said I go a couple year between cuts because I am lazy and keep my hair long- but at this point I have seen her multiple times. She does an awesome job every time and she listens really well to what you want and does her best to give you your hair dreams. She is the first stylist I have ever been to who didn’t get overly chop happy on my hair, and this last time I saw her I came out with a beautiful cut and a gorgeous subtle balayage that I have been getting compliments on non-stop. She is professional, fun and easy to talk to, and simply a great stylist and human being.Bonus, as a long term vegan her product line and business ethos is also a dream. Strut is all I could want in a salon; excellent stylist, beautiful space, wonderful products and reasonable prices.

I recently went to Strut for my bridal hair and makeup and WOW. Jonna and Caroline executed my vision flawlessly. My hair was incredible and my makeup was perfect. I felt so beautiful on my big day and recieved SO many complements. I would highly, highly recommend coming to this salon for your wedding day needs.

This was my first hair cut at a private salon ever, I’ve always just gone to great clips…well that is no more!Caroline was so amazing!!I was so worried about this cut. Not only did I love my hair cut from Jonna and no longer struggle every day to detangle my hair/battle dry damaged ends, but the products used are cruelty free, vegan and Canadian! And even better, they make as much of an effort as they can to reduce waste, reuse what they can, and recycle things that most salons wouldn't bother doing. I am very impressed and love that I finally have a salon to go to that understands my values as a waste reducing vegan myself! Highly recommend!

Got some piercings done for my ears! Great staff very professional and clean! What a great environment so knowledgeable! I highly recommend!

My friend and I decided to go get piercings on a whim the other night; her looking for a double up on her nostril and a redone septum for myself. We stumbled across this place and decided to give them a call. They didn’t immediately answer, but we were met with a text conversation about what we were looking for and we were able to book that night - within 2 hours.Upon entering the shop we were greeted warmly by the owner (our piercer) as well as some other staff. The location is bright, impressively clean (it’s a tattoo space as well) and inviting.I had a bit of an adrenaline reaction after my piercing and almost passed out, but was met with utmost compassion and kindness. I was offered water and a lollipop to get my blood sugar back up.At the end of the day both piercings look great aesthetically as well as anatomy wise, and we are both over the moon about them!Thank you to everyone here!! Will be returning for sure.

My 11-year-old saw Amanda this week to have her ears pierced and we had a really great experience. Amanda took her time explaining everything that she was doing, and allowed my daughter the time she needed to feel comfortable and calm. I would definitely recommend Amanda for anyone with a fear of needles - she did such a great job of helping my daughter through the whole process. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Took my daughter here to get her ears pierced - we had a great experience, everything was clean and nice and so far they're healing perfectly. Will definitely be back.

My 6 year old decided she was ready for earrings. Amanda was absolutely fabulous. She made my daughter feel at ease the second she walked in. She took her time getting the positioning in the right spot but the actual piercing was done with speed to limit the discomfort and give no time for second guessing her decision. Lol. The shop is as spotless. Attention to hygiene was evident from start to finish. She loved the titanium studs with little gems she picked out. We liked the experience so much my wife went back on the weekend to get her industrial piercing redone.
