Nice museum by the historical originary house of the innovator Alphonse Desjardins. As all museums here in Canada, closes very early in the afternoon. You can enjoy the free tour guide by one of the very nice volunteers who welcome visitors. The guided tour can be between 20-60 minutes. Even the entrance is free

We visited on a rainy day and arrived at the lunch break. We were given some great suggestions for lunch nearby so we went for a plat de jour before our free tour. Our guide, Denise was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining and the restored home of Alphonse Desjardins, the founder of the first credit union in Quebec and Canada was very interesting. You should visit if you are in Lévis.

Built-in 1884 for Alphonse Desjardins, who lived there until his death in 1920, this neo-Gothic style house has the particularity of having housed the first credit union in Quebec

The Desjardins house is a small house but a grand experience. Absolutely take the tour with a guide; Vincent was a very knowledgeable person & never hesitated to answer my many questions with information, photos and more. I highly recommend this.

The museum is a little smaller then I expected, as half of it is just information about the owner, and there is nothing upstairs. However, the museum is completely free, regardless of which kind of tour you choose. You can either go with a guide. Get a complimentary audio tour. Or, print the history of the place from the internet and walk around on your own. Aside from the fort, this is really the only other thing on this side of the river that's worth seeing, and since it's free and a short walking distance from the ferry, there is no excuse for you skip this place. Especially if the weather is bad, it's a good place to get out of the cold. The only historic home in the area that's open regularly, outside of the tourist season. The young man at the front desk was really friendly and informative.

A lovely preserved/restored home of the founder of Desjardins Cooperative Bank. Completely free of charge to enter, we even had our own guide who was extremely knowledgeable about the property and it's famous owner. Well worth a visit, it's in a very peaceful area. and the ferry crossing from Québec is fun!

Extremely interesting historical site if you want to know more than just who Alphonse Desjardins was and why he started the caisse populaire. It really shows you what it must have been like in the early years of the movement Desjardins and just how much it was a family effort.

This was a very interesting tour and a step back into history. Learning about the first Desjardins bank was eye-opening. I wish there could have been more to the tour.
