Real Estate Appraising was fantastic during a very stressful time! Jim was the appraiser that came to my house - he was on time, answered all of my numerous questions and was friendly and made me feel comfortable as he went through our home. The cost was very reasonable considering that he had to drive quite far to get to us. I have and will continue to recommend this company to friends/family and coworkers.

We recently had our property appraised by Michelle from REAC. She came recommended and we found her extremely professional, courteous and responsive. The booking process was straightforward, the report turnaround was quick and we are very pleased with the services provided.

They performed and expensive appraisal on my home and they felt short by approximately 100-200K on the estimation of value. I gave them the opportunity to review the appraisal by providing them with a full video of the house with comments (I have 15 years of experience appraising the value of homes) Both the appraiser and the owner of the company debunked every single one of my comments without giving merit to any of them. They compared homes that were siding onto cemeteries and active Quarries to mine that is backing, siding and fronting onto conservation area with the view of the Niagara Escarpment in all directions. They did not assign any value to almost 500 sqf of covered Porches but assigned value to a Pergola in a comparable. Did not assign any value to the fact that my house is only 4 years old when compared with houses that are 20+ years old. They did not assign a fair value to the finishes of this house, to the high end appliances, to the hundreds of square feet of interlocking. To the natural gas generator, To a huge cistern buried in the ground and much more. I gave the company the chance to review but they decided to stay put without properly reviewing the merit of my comments. I cannot recommend this company. Neither my mortgage broker nor myself with all these years of experience in the field could believe how low the estimation was in this appraisal.I gave this company originally 2 stars in my review but after talking to the owner and seeing that he never had any intention give merit to any of my comments I decided to go with the minimum rating because I could not recommend this company to anyone really.

REAC is definitely a top notch appraisal company. Their pricing is very fair and they're always quick to respond. Being a mortgage broker, I work with many appraisal companies, and they're always my go to for Southern Ontario. Don't take chances on your appraisal, it can the make or break for your mortgage financing!

It really was an awesome experience, having my property appraised by JESSE with REAC. As he pleasantly accommodated my request to squeeze me into his busy schedule, giving me a next day appointment to swing by and appraise my house.After arriving to my house, he asked permission to park on my drive way which showed so much respect and I just felt so comfortable having him come into my house.He was extremely professional and efficient with so much attention to details, very specific and relevant questions. The Appraisal company is in bed with major lenders.I recently had an appraisal done ( the appraiser was excellent) in order to extend our mortgage to get some much needed renovations done. I was not informed that despite scheduling and paying for the appraisal, the appraisal doesn't belong to me.The woman I spoke to on the phone was curt and less than pleasant, and took a rules are the rules" mentality. She told me she's had this conversation a hundred times.. but still said that it's not the job of their company to make buyers aware of this.Why wouldn't you just let your customers know this so they can make an educated decision instead of having the conversation 100 times?My recommendation to anyone reading this prior to booking an appraisal would be to investigate whether your lender will accept a privately booked appraisal (insofar as it's by one of their approved providers). This way you are entitled to getting what you paid for.People are allowed to be curious about the details of their appraisal and it's accuracy. This should not be a secret."
